“But it’s impossible to be addicted to weed.”

      - People who don’t realize you can be addicted to literally anything.

I knew a guy who was addicted to ibuprofen. He wasn’t even taking it for pain.

My addiction ed for new techs that were hired with few to no actual psych qualifications is that they’re almost definitely addicted to something and just happen to be lucky enough that it’s legal. Common legal addictions:

        • nicotine
        • caffeine
        • gambling including microtransaction phone games
        • social media
        • pornography
        • processed sugar

If half the girls in my school were addicted to codeine, that would have been a major scandal, lives would have been ruined. This was treated more like a minor inconvenience, they all had low grade migraines they treated by popping tylenols all day long. To be honest I’d be surprised if some of them didn’t fuck up their livers a bit.

I don’t smoke anymore, but back when I was working as a line cook I used to smoke like a chimney. I’m real happy I stopped, my sleep took a while to get better but now it’s way more restful then when I smoked. Weed is chill in moderation, not if it’s your only way to relax after a long day of too many hours under high pressure.

Still get a bit of a craving every now and then, but I think it’s just when I’m bored.

Understandable. Can be a good thing though, as long as you don’t take the easy route!

Reading academic books that freak people out when they come over to my place and get me labeled as a pretentious douche.

On Saturdays for lunch we let the kids pick. Me and my wife work from home, on Tuesdays she gets to pick where we go for our lunch date and Thursdays I get to pick.

The wife likes to pick sushi, panera, taco bell, and a good local burger joint.

I like to pick Qdoba, Firehouse, Burger King, local Indian place, chick-fil-a, and random new places around town.

I knew people who eat out 3 times a day.

They always complained about how broke they were and how expensive life is…

True. One thing that helps is I hate delivery apps. I only use them when work gives out gift cards. The food is always cold and garbage when I finally get it. And not using those helps save money a lot too.

What about when you hang out outside on a weekend, then that is easily two meals outside.

Do you not hang out outside that long or do you go home for lunch and go back out?

Nah, we tend to either stay home or when we go out to do things on the weekends they’re quick errands and we’re right back home.

Staying up long in the evening. Might sound a bit weird but there’s a thing called bedtime procrastination, and I’m very bad with it. I’ll try so hard to fix my sleeping schedule but the next evening I’ll again be like “nah we can do half an hour more” which turns into multiple hours, which turns into another day with no energy. However in the evening I’ll feel awake again and the cycle just continues. I’m going to talk to a doctor about it next.

    Soda for me.
    I love it.
    I hate it.

I just wish so much that there were half sugar sodas out there. All the synthetic sugars of the diet or 0 calorie ones taste like garbage.

I’ve been cutting the ones I drink by pouring a can of eltzer water in with the regular can of soda, but I think even that tastes a little strange compared to just watering things down.

Make your own. It’s pretty easy. It’s just water and flavorings and sugar and you boil it down slowly.

Syrup in the fridge made this way will store for weeks and you can customize how strong/weak you want your soda to taste.

Same… I drink an embarrassing amount of diet soda. I’m like a chain-drinker, to be honest, and I’m almost never without one. When one runs out I get another.

I like to add a splash of regular when I use a fountain soda machine, which is the best way to drink soda anyway, imo.

Agreed with the second part 100%. On the rare occasion I get fast food or something, getting the good stuff straight from the great soda teat is probably the best part.

Liquid Death has some great low-sugar sodas. I’ve been a strong fan of their Doctor Death. Their tea is also super low in sugar.

Only tried Liquid Death once, and it was Arnold Palmer I believe. Just tasted like watered down iced tea…

I think the flavor was called “dead billionaire” though which gave me a chuckle.

I drink a lot of plain carbonated water. I mean carbonated water with powerful bubbles like most sodas. Some carbonated waters are awfully bad with weak ass bubbles indistinguishable from something that was left open the day before and went flat.

There are some lower sugar sodas, or hybrid sodas that use fruit juice along with Stevia or monkfruit in order to cut the weird taste. Olipop is my favorite, and Spindrift has some good flavors.

Blue cheese. Specifically double cream blue cheese spread on triscuits.

I used to think blue cheese tasted like play-doh…
