Haven’t used temu, but I have used Wish a lot. It’s a lot of misrepresented low quality stuff. But if what you’re after is impossible to misrepresent and quality doesn’t matter it’s alright.
neidu3@sh.itjust.worksMto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If real-life had D&D stats, what would yours look like? Would you focus new points on any in particular?English3·1 day ago10 STR - Used to be 14 when I worked out.
12 DEX - Used to be 16, but I’ve kind of stiffened up with age.
10 CON - Average. Always has been.
12 INT - I wouldn’t be able to get paid loads for the occasional perl hack if I wasn’t. However, see below.
8 WIS - See below.
8 CHA - See below.Int and wis might be the other way around. My experiences leads me to conclude that I’m reasonably smart, but still prone to stupid decisions. I’m not sure if I have wisdom that makes up for lack of int, or if lack of wisdom sabotaged my int. My will save is awful, though.
As for charisma, I am OK looking, but I severely lack social skills. I have what you’d call charisn’tma.
neidu3@sh.itjust.worksto Europa / Europe and the EU + EEA@lemmy.world•Russia burned down Warsaw’s biggest mall, Tusk saysEnglish12·1 day agoAnd this kind of shit is why I hope our politicians don’t immediately lift sanctions if a peace treaty is signed.
Putin has been waging a war of terror, intimidation, and sabotage against rest of Europe for years, and should pay for it irregardless of military operations halting.
Hopefully our politicians have learned that playing nice and taking the high road doesn’t work. Carrots were obsolete in 2014 and there haven’t been nearly enough sticks since then.
EDIT: And to that Latvian dude I talked to on IRC in 2005ish who warned me of the Tin of Poo and his ambitions and tactics: I am sorry. I was wrong, you were right.

Most posts have an interested audience even if something is technically against the rules, and as such it is very rare that I hit that delete button.

neidu3@sh.itjust.worksMto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•I’m drowning and I don’t know where else to go.English6·4 days agoThis was me in 2014. I didn’t think of it as drowining, it felt more like a plow working against too much snow: Things kept piling up in front, and not enough was shoved away, to the point where things started coming over the plow and starting to bury me.
Took me five years, some help, and a lot of luck to get things under control and start turning things around. And in 2024 all expensive debts were paid off.
It takes effort, but it can get better.

neidu3@sh.itjust.worksMto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What actors/actresses make you immediately not want to make a movie/show?English11·6 days agoHugh Grant. I’m sure he’s both a wonderful person and a great actor, but… he seems to have gotten typecast into a certain type of movie that I just cannot stand. He’s become a litmus test for movies I should just not bother watching.
neidu3@sh.itjust.worksMto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•what's something from your job that could kill a horror movie monster/villain?English4·6 days agoThat too. The entire stream was flooded with trolls. And some of them really struck a nerve. I don’t remember the exact words, but I’m sure “You can be as successful as you want, but your insecurities will never go away. That’s why you will always feel alone. It will never get better.” …hit home.

neidu3@sh.itjust.worksMto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•what's something from your job that could kill a horror movie monster/villain?English4·7 days agoWell, I work with IT, Ships, and industrial robotics, so I’m thinking that the villain gets maimed by a robot controlled by a perl script to the point where he is unable to prevent his ship from sinking.
EDIT: Oh, and don’t gets me started on the seismic source: 4000 cubic inches of compressed air at 2000psi. Seismic sources are scary. In water ut will turn anyone in yhe water into jell-o. I’ve coordinated these with simultaneous diving ops, and the divers usually call us to stop if they’re within 3-4 kilometers.
Yup. They are part of “They”, as in the ones who are hiding the truth from us.
