I’m working on rearranging my eurorack, plus I’m waiting for some new modules (Error instruments). Synth tower are synths on monitor arms around a 19" module mount.

Beautiful. I unfortunately migrated completely to soft synths now, so I no longer have a stack of keyboards. I kinda miss it sometimes, but I don’t miss hauling all of it when moving.

I don’t need keyboards, I really can’t play (press too much keys at the same time with my clumsy fingers). I wish I could play though. I use the Deluge as a cheat to stay dawless, it’s the best midi and cv/gate controller I’ve ever seen or used. My advice would be to don’t move that much haha! I will never move if I don’t have to, I don’t want to deal with doing all the autistic perfect cable management again. I loved doing it, because autistic, but doing it once is more then enough haha!

Tease me: How are you liking the proton?

It was supposed to be my toe tip into modular, but my order got delayed over and over again before I gave up on waiting.

Also, given that you have so much of their gear: Which behringer synth gear is a must, and which has been the most disappointing?

Thanks for the vid! It sounds great in every demo I hear of it!

I’m by no means writing off buying it in the future. I just might wait until there is steady stock online instead of “Hey, your synth should be on a boat from China in four months!”

I don’t mind if anything is delayed. Makes me forget about it and then suddenly I get a present! Yay! I’m waiting on the RS-9, Swords and Waves eurorack modules. Available in a few months. Yesterday I received an email stating the Swords and Waves is expected to be delivered 16-04. Major sad face but nothing I can do about it. Patience is what I must have. The Proton is available at Thomann by the way, I don’t know where you live but if it’s in Europe you’re in luck.

Yeah, I blame Behringer. I never started because it’s so expensive. Now with Behringer it’s so cheap, so I bought my first synth. And a second. Etc. The bar of “should I buy this” is very low when the prices are so sexy. Now I have a decent setup of legendary clones, so now I can see which ones I never use so I can sell them. Honestly, I use almost all of them every time. So now I’m saving money for proper eurorack modules. I just ordered Error Instruments modules, they are so unique, quirky and beautiful. Also invested in Erica Synths drum modules and Endorphins Ghost among others for creating better kicks and high hats.

But I never was a student, I never had a student debt. I always made enough money to pay my bills and have something extra to spend on something nice. Now that I’m getting a bit older, I’m partying a bit less so I can afford a synth or 2 every month. Now I have enough I can focus on improving the quality of my setup. Buying second hand and selling second hand barily comes at a loss, sometimes even at a win. Behringer is cheap, but does lose a bit more value than better quality gear. But is also cheap second hand and doesn’t lose much more when selling it again a year later.
