  • Equalizers do not have any effect on vibrato. As you said, it only allows you to selectively enhance or reduce specific frequencies of the sound you’re listening to. So if you set your eq to a sine wave pattern, it will just cut off and increase frequency bands alternately across the spectrum. So it will enhance and reduce the bass frequency at different points, same as with the mids and highs. In the end you’ll get a fairly flat response with some missing tones throughout.

  • I’m not from a native english speaking country, but my parents taught us siblings english first before we learned the local language. There were some minor issues (i.e. other kids won’t talk/play with us because we couldn’t converse well), but it paid off in the long run because we are generally more fluent than the average person from our country, and we have neutral accents when speaking english. It helped a lot working in the corporate world.

  • Marketplace. Yes it’s full of scammers, but I still manage to buy and sell stuff there. Just do local in-person transactions in safe places and you’ll generally be fine. Also, a lot of my acquaintances are still there, so I still have Messenger to keep in touch. But that’s basically all I use it for.

  • It sounds to me you are dealing in absolutes. When someone gives advice saying you don’t need to worry about that based on your threat model, that’s exactly that, nothing political about it. That’s the point of a threat model, so you can balance privacy with convenience and allow yourself to prioritize what you need to protect. It doesn’t mean you don’t care about privacy at all.

You also need to remember that security/privacy is only a fraction of the tech industry. Not everyone involved in tech is privacy conscious, just like why there are appsec teams to make sure devs code securely.

When you start talking about “grapheneos, qubesos, intel me” to the average person, you will obviously be looked at as either a nerd or a paranoid person depending on how you approach the subject. Imagine a non-techie person posts in this community saying they want to start taking steps to improve their privacy and asking for advice. Responding with a wall of text about “grapheneos, qubesos, intel me” will just scare them away. That’s why the first thing people respond with is “What is your threat model?”, because you want context to give proper advice to fit their needs. Going nuclear on the first step is overkill and unnecessary.

Taking tiny steps to improve privacy and not going full hermit doesn’t mean you don’t care about privacy. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.

    1. Purpose - Wanted some protein for Sundubu Jjigae (aside from the tofu) but was too lazy to handle and cook raw meat.
    2. Hypothesis - If I used the last remaining frozen, microwaveable burger patties in the freezer, I might be able to add protein into my soup without altering the taste too much from the processed patties.
    3. Materials(if any) - Sundubu Jjigae ingredients and frozen fully-cooked burger patties.
    4. Procedure - Perpare Sundubu Jjigae according to recipe and add 3-4 burger patties.
    5. Observations - The burger patties looked fine even though I threw them in without defrosting. Cook long enough for the patties to defrost and get warm.
    6. Conclusions - The patties’ seasoning did not alter the taste of the soup and added the protein I was craving. Success.
