Not asking about achievements in work/love/health/etc. but about your esence as a person. Like how you wish people would describe you.

Good question. Lots of interesting answers here.

Physically im not as fit as I’d like. I want to look like a roider but I dont want to roid. My ideal build is the guy in the gas mask leaning on the gate. I’d like to be someone who dresses nice and puts effort into looking good but I’m just not that guy no matter how much I want to be.

Organisation wise I’m significantly behind. I want to on top of everything, having a plan for the next 6 months buying gifts ahead of time, making lunch for work every day. But I’m battling to get the rubbish out each week and missing any event I’m not directly reminded about. I cant plan to save my life I cant even follow cooking instructions.

Mentally im close to where i want to be. I’m generally pretty content which is my biggest problem I don’t feel the need to go do uncomfortable things. People say im smart but they have low/no expertise so its not satisfying they don’t that im far away from where i want to be. One day I’d like to be at the point where someone i lookup to is impressed with my work.

It’s a hard question because i have no idea how others view me. It’s hard for me to understand others. all I can do is put my thoughts in their body and then evaluate myself only using what i know they know. When people speak of me it’s a completely unrecognisable person to me.

Came to post the same answer. Comfortable in being me, and looking forward to keep improving myself incrementally. But the fundamentals are in place, IMO.

The way I act, is pretty close to how I’d hope anyone would. It has a cost, so I’m willing to just say that, even though it’s a bit of a brag.

The actual impact is still pretty small. I guess I wish I was better at things, so it would matter more.

totally not doing what I intended work wise. meant to do reasearch and teach at the collegiac level and did IT work instead. Love never had really thought about it. I mean thought I might meet someone and have kids. Did meet someone and I think we have about as good a relationship as anyone. No kids and that was definately a decision we made and agree on. Did not think to much about health. Who I am as a person is about where I would want to be excpet I have this obsession with truth and its been much more elusive. I mean to the point of it being kinda tilting at windmills.

I’m pretty close to being who I can bother to be. I should be better at visiting family, I should be better at talking to my friends, but anything involving people exhausts me.

I don’t have an end goal.

At my current stage of life I’m trying to have a closer relationship with my nieces and nephews who are entering early adulthood.

My early 20s were probably the hardest period of time in my life, and older adults were particularly critical of me when I looked for guidance. So now I’m trying to be a better listener when they’re struggling.

I don’t want people to have glowing opinions or me or even be overly impressed. What I do want them to describe me with is that I cared. Maybe not for them, but in general. “He’s quiet and detached, but his actions showed he cares in his own way.”

I spend time around holidays creating little gifts for my dentist, doctor’s office, co-workers, and other places I visit. Why? Partly because I want to make a difference. I want to make an impact. Did my little gift brighten someone’s day? If it did then it was worth it. If it didn’t then better luck next year.

A selfish part of me wants it to be an expectation. That if I ever die or move on they might wonder why I stopped. That I might be remembered for it. I guess it’s just my way to leave my mark on the lives of those around me.

I’m already me. why would I want to be anyone else?

seems a bit conceited to me, to want to be something you’re not. leave that to the actors and the actresses, just be yourself. its perfectly okay to be yourself and nothing else… after all, it just takes some time, little girl, you’re in the middle of the ride. everything, everything, is gonna be alright (alright). above all else, just never let them distract you from that time in nineteen ninety eight when the undertaker threw mankind off hell in a cell and plummeted sixteen feet into the announcers table.

Hm, I want to be the stoic guy who is reliable. I think with the reliability I’m quite close, the stoicism - hm - yeah depending on how close something is I sometimes get really affected and can’t stay stoic, so still some work to be done.
