It’s a good thing the winner will be even more hardcore Israel then, won’t it be? Isn’t that the goal of costing Biden the election?

Yeah, that’s the thing. What is the strategy? Petty retribution on Biden for … existing policy that isn’t going to change with the Congress we have, and would whiplash when a Republican gets elected again?

Trump might be less hardcore Israel because it doesn’t align with Russia’s interests. /s. He’s an isolationist. The goal? It’s a representation of the sentiment of the country.

Trump moved the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv, where it had been for a very long time, to Jerusalem in order to make a show of power for Israel’s claim that Jerusalem is their sole domain. He also wants to stop Muslims from entering the United States. You know who he has no problem with entering the United States? Israelis.

But sure, he’s totally less hardcore on Israel.

Israel and a war in the middle East is hugely important to his evangelical base. Putin wouldn’t mind as it leaves him free to take more of Europe.

The poll found that Biden’s Republican rival and GOP front runner Donald Trump is attracting the support of 21 percent of young people who voted for Biden in 2020, who sympathize more with Palestine than Israel.

Then they’re fucking idiots. Trump will be even worse on this issue than Biden.

Oh look, another useless poll that asks about “feelings” instead of who you plan on voting for.

If only there was a super easy way he could fix this problem.

It’s easier to blame ordinary people for a lack of tactical voting than to blame the politicians for being woefully unable or unwilling to inspire people in any other way. “Vote Biden: if you don’t, things will be even more fucked!”

Oh boy I sure can’t wait to vote for the lesser of two evils!

This is the best summary I could come up with:

On October 7, Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, killing about 1,200 people and seizing about 240 hostages according to the Associated Press, which prompted the Israelis to carry out extensive airstrikes and a ground offensive in Gaza.

Earlier this month he told a campaign fundraising event that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government is “starting to lose support” and that changes needed to be made because of the mounting death toll in Gaza.

Last week, polling conducted exclusively for Newsweek by Redfield and Wilton Strategies, found the proportion of people aged between 18 and 42 who support the president’s response to the war has increased by 5 percentage points since October.

Speaking to Newsweek, Thomas Gift, associate professor of political science in the School of Public Policy at University College London, said Biden is facing a difficult situation.

Even if many youth voters won’t cast their ballot for Trump, their waning support for Biden in light of the Israel-Hamas conflict could cost the president electorally if they simply decide not to show up on election day."

He added: "Generally speaking, presidential elections are fought on the economy rather than foreign affairs, and while progress may be steady rather than spectacular, Biden has a good economic story to tell, which could be even better by the fall.

The original article contains 980 words, the summary contains 218 words. Saved 78%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

    Lemmy: Boooooo, Biden is evil!

Also Lemmy: Don’t tell us how our complaints about Biden seem to be reflected in the polls!
