“Oh no, China might economically bully us so we’re going to have to probbly block imports of their electric vehicles. On no, I guess that means we’ll be relying on our privately-owned fossil-fuel burning automotive industry still. Oh no, I guess that means we’ll have to import more oil from privately-owned companies in the markets of our good kind friends, the Americans. Dear citizens of EU, I guess there’s a price you have to pay to live in the free world where everyone has political agency and their voice matters, and that price is sometimes we ignore your voice and have to do stuff that seems like it’s not in your interests. Please remember that this situation is China’s fault for [checks notes] having a strong economy.”

Borrell, you fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous of which is, “never get involved in a trade war with China.”

It wasn’t that long ago when Europe was accused of unfair trade policies towards the US. They seem to have no problem letting US businesses take over their domestic markets either.

But sure, keep worshipping the US as you continue to sink lower and pick fights with countries that have been way too patient with you to begin with. They unveiled their own version of BRI that’s already facing issues. Fucking idiots.

We can now definitively see that Europe has no sovereignty to speak of. Practically all the leaders put the interests of the empire above the interests of their own people.

seems like every time Biden or his lackeys meet with their Chinese counterparts they find a way to poke them either right beforehand, right afterward, or both.

I’m guessing there’s a powerful neocon faction that absolutely doesn’t want to see any possibility of relations being normalized.
