The last election where a senator’s seat was up for vote they through out a candidate that appealed to the “never Trumper” republicans and such. She failed abysmally so. The Democrats at best are idiots thinking you can work with Republicans, realistically they’re just the same side of the coin.

We the People do NOT want any olive branches! We do NOT want these people to have control of our lives anymore. Why the FUCK can’t democrats figure that out???

I’m not supporting anyone who doesn’t want to burn the shit out of those bridges. Absolute razed and salted, then have a fucking priest sprinkle holy water.

Theres no holy water I’m afraid. We put all the priests on the bridges before we burned them. On balance I think the lack of holy water is fine.

I have a news for you: It’s really a corporate duopoly. Parties are nothing more than political corpos in US and you still vote like there’s a difference between them.

At this point it has to be self sabotage. The alternative is that they are too stupid to realize Republicans ain’t trying to work together, and these people don’t seem stupid to me

Biden not hanging a single insurrectionist, including the dipshit, should tell you everything you need to know about conservative Dems. Progressive or bust.

I can understand the sentiment of “we’re incredibly divided and this isn’t healthy for our country’s future”, but you don’t promise the kids that you’re going to keep working on the marriage when he comes home drunk and beats everyone

Observing this with how Trump presented himself in 2014, and Fetterman.
      Will Platner reengage this strat?

        I don’t think so.

Both parties came out hard against Platner, and they only do that against people who they know mean it when they say they’ll vote against the billionaires, like Sanders or Mamdani. They swift-boated Sanders as a supposed sexist and Mamdani as a supposed jihadist or whatever.

It’s nice to see that all the shit-slinging by the Democrats and their buddies in the media hasn’t amounted to anything.

Shit with mandami they went so far as to stage an independent general campaign. Literally threw all that vote blue no matter who garbage out the window as soon as it was convenient to them.

True, but in 2014, Donald was a similar upstart candidate, and one with a history of supporting progressive causes and cozying up with Democrats.

We now know that Donald is whoever he surrounds himself with, but at the time, the politics made it make sense for Republicans to oppose him.

Then please continue proceed with caution when someone promises to act in a progressive cause, all the while having populist power. As progressives, we have to be ready to oppose those that wish to oppress us.

By that logic, she should have a few Greens and Libertarians too, but nope, they won’t allow third parties within sniffing distance of any meaningful position.

Lots of democrats are controlled oppo, and the basic structure of US government has been hijacked by private interests masquerading as a duopoly, but I still think some genuine people get involved with their party, and in enough numbers they could have turned the tide.

I just think it’s too little, too late. Much too late, now. I’d still vote for a Dem president, but only to ensure my good standing as a justified complainer.

Remember, EVERY TIME they complain about that super majority hurdle to “overcome the filibuster”, they can always make it a simple majority vote.

They call it the “nuclear option” ever since Trent Lott the Republican came up with the term in 2000s. bOtH pArTiEs immediately adopted the term, because it scares the ever-loving shit out of voters.

Before then, it was called the “constitutional option”, since bills can always be passed with a simple majority vote.

They’re not even hiding it… because it’s that easy to manipulate the electorate. “nuclear option”, check it out

They see that people view political polarization as an issue, so they decide to align themselves with the most polarizing people in order to reduce polarization. What could go wrong?
