Everything is better if you add lasers.

The storage cost of their S3 doesn’t bother me that much. It’s the bandwidth cost that makes me cringe.
Storage Cloud is backed up nightly, though as you say it has occasional downtime. I have Storage Box which is not backed up, but it’s on raid 6, and so far I haven’t heard of data losses with it
They charge 1 euro/TB for bandwidth with this product. That really makes it near useless for various obvious applications. All their other server products have unlimited free bandwidth within the Hetzner network. For some reason, S3 providers like to charge for internal traffic and that means Hetzner’s other storage products look a lot better than S3.
There will also be an interesting incentive conflict if Nextcloud adds an S3 module sometime.
5 euro/m for storage and 1 euro/TB for traffic, it appears. Fairly unattractive if that traffic change includes internal traffic. Their Storage Box and Storage Share products are much cheaper. And of course you can self-host S3 if you need lots of it.
What is the attraction of this product on a budget host like Hetzner? Is it a sign they are moving more upscale?
Target is full of video cameras and apparently they can ID people almost instantly now. Although I wear an N95 mask in the store, so maybe that helps. Main reason for wanting parking lot pickup is to stay out of the store, as infection prevention. I do go in when I have to, but try to get out quickly. I find it is quicker to get the stuff in the store and pay at self-checkout, than to order online and then wait around for them to show up at the service desk, so I mostly don’t do the latter any more.
This will be multi-kilobucks but best wishes. There was a series of GPL cameras some years back (I’m spacing on the name) but they used smaller sensors and were more video oriented. Anyone remember?
Edit: I remember now. It was elphel.com and it appears to still be around.
32 level “PLC” cells, OMG. How about staying at levels with some durability.
Around here, Target (department store chain) will let you order stuff through their app and pick it up in the store parking lot. If you order through the web you have to wait around inside the store to get it. I still won’t install the app but this issue annoys me.
Jeez, we have surveillance hobbyists now.
This was some years back but I think the multiple files were primarily because we took breaks in the interview and stopped the camera. I don’t remember if any parts hit the file size limits. I still have the files on a server someplace, so might check.
I did the audio-only part with a separate audio recorder because the phone was full. The video is in a bunch of parts but I don’t remember if any are larger than 2GB. It is FAT32 so maybe they must be smaller. I remember the phone ran out of battery power after maybe an hour, and I plugged in a power bank (10000 mah) and that was enough for the rest of the session.
$3000, yowch, but I like the idea of a small-laptop sized screen that is pocket sized. It means being able to read or edit a reasonable amount of text. I don’t need the phone or camera in it for that matter. Actually how about just a foldable HDMI monitor that size, and I can run it from another phone or computer.
I shot a 4 hour interview on my 2016 Moto G4. The last hour or so was audio only because the phone ran out of internal storage (32GB) and I didn’t have an SD card in it. It has a slot though.
“the medium soda 40 cents cheaper than the large because it exists only to make the large seem like a better deal.”
“Fly first class if you can, third class if you must, but never fly second class”.
I dunno, maybe the diagnosis is fine but the companies that run it are sure to save copies. I can just see databreaches now, “5 million stolen dick picks uploaded to dark web”. Complete with labelling of which ones are diseased though, so that’s a help.
Will they ban ad blockers next?
Most everything everywhere is virtual these days, even when the host hardware is single tenant. Companies running hosted applications on bare metal are rare. I run personal stuff that way because proxmox was too much hassle, but a more serious user would have just dealt with it.
Um lol no. It would have to be 3x the physical size of the original battery to have 3x the capacity. But if they made a new, thicker phone case to accommodate it, that could work and such things have been done a few times for other phones.
Sad to hear. Newpipe is still working fine (as of a couple minutes ago) if that helps. That’s through a residential IP. I will try yt-dlp from a data center IP when I get a chance. I hope they haven’t blocked that.
This is about the misdesigned power connectors on Nvidia graphics cards of a while ago. 12VHPR is 12 volt high power, a type of connector. I thought maybe it was a game.
