They don’t get paid directly, just with your data.
Frozen in vacuum sealed bags, to get to the other side.
Just determining the requirements would be a nightmare.
I’ve worked on teams converting legacy code for most of my life. The planning for something like this would take longer than six months.
If this proceeds in Trump’s corrupt government, Elon will get the contract, will claim it is too broken to salvage, and will privatize it. The only way this goes anywhere is if Trump and musk stand to gain money, and they stand to gain a lot.
Get a burner. Browse some boring content with it: few business websites, maybe some sports scores, maybe snap some photos of landscapes and dogs on the camera roll.
Then you have a functional phone and piece of mind. Making the phone feel “lived in” probably isn’t all that important, but I think it’d be easier to explain than a factory stock pay as you go phone.
That holds true by the transitive property. It’s just good math.
I sometimes wonder if my current car will be my last new car. My car has some tracking that I can supposedly disable, so I understand the appeal of classic cars more. I might have to pick up a mint condition early 2000s car for my midlife crisis.
Me and my people are bullied less, it is true.
If they joined immediately, NATO would have to directly engage Russia now – which would be bad, especially with the US being shitty right now.
If they predicate membership on a Russian attack it will defer and potentially remove that risk. Seems like a solid idea to me.
I don’t want to be a tinfoil hat guy, but those comments are all suspiciously well capitalized and punctuated. Smells like a pro Russia bot powered by an LLM
It’s a modern day enterprise fizzbuzz: https://github.com/EnterpriseQualityCoding/FizzBuzzEnterpriseEdition
Flavored water does feel like cheating. It’s really just water.
You need to do damage control. Being short in all caps to a friend trying to speak with you is rude. The only real move is to apologize.
I killed Instagram and Whatsapp recently when Mark started buddying up to Trump.
Deleted Twitter shortly after Elon took over, which bummed me out since it was a good place for software development information.
Quit reddit after the API ordeal when I didn’t want to use the official client.
I was a long time user of each platform, and I was bummed when I had to leave each.
Now I have bluesky, lemmy, mastodon, and some occasional discord servers I hangout on. I miss Instagram as a time waster, but I’ll survive without funny dog videos and fitness models.
I’ve worked on projects for the government as a contractor. There is SQL; SQL as far as the eye can see. I’m sure the NSA has some novel solutions to crunching shittons of big data, but day to day, at least in my experience, it is a lot of relational CRUD and reporting queries.
For the curious, it does clearly exist:

I think we should have empathy for people that were fooled into voting for Trump with the promise of prosperity. Working people should be voting for a party that actually supports the middle class, and Republicans had better (albeit untruthful) messaging there.
Whatever their reasons, if the voters are seeing the consequences of their actions and reflecting I’m going to forgive them. It sucks that it came to this, but if people are learning from their mistakes, we might be able to push back in a couple of years. I have less empathy for those that haven’t changed their minds. I have zero empathy for people that voted for Trump out of hate.
I agree, people need to be able to focus on something else for a few hours on a Sunday.

Trump will certainly write this man a fat check for being his number one election denier through thick and (now) thin. It’s probably in the mail. If Trump is anything, he is loyal to his people.
