Privacy@lemmy.ml•AI: EU Member States approve “digital expropriation” for AI companies
21·14 days ago“Parts of EU decision-making are being captured by corporate interests” lol, have these guys had their head in the sand for 70 years or what?

16·24 days agoWill this be the final nail in the coffin for the EU project? Probably not entirely but it might weaken it enough.
I am personally happy to see the entire state collapse after reading about their “innovations” converting telephones into electric-genetalia-shock-torture machines during their war with Algeria. May all colonizers die in puddle of their own piss, preferably with some current running through it.
If you were the US, what are your options?
I feel like the “easy” thing would be to stop the global force projection (which they cannot afford anyway), lower the military budget and try to mobilize domestic industry (on a scale never before seen in a capitalist country). However, wouldn’t that completely degrade the value of the dollar? And so, it isn’t really a choice after all since the domestic economy probably would stop functioning if it crashes. So what even are the options besides continuing their attempts at projection power and trying to keep of the facade of “we are actually winning”.
I guess that in the short term, the one thing they do got going is the increased oil and gas exports. This can potentially keep things going for a while, until the Gulf or Russia can increase exports again.

I mean this seems really unserious. They make money off data, stop giving the creeps your data – that is the only way to do anything different.
