1·11 months agoSeems reasonable on desktop, people are usually not having to look at the icon so much, they just want a way to quickly identify which community it is

Just as an observation, I’m not sure we’ll get people. Good moderators are hard to find (I’ve been looking for some for !yurop@lemm.ee for a long time ), and this community will probably require more work to moderate as it will have a lot of news and political discussions. After all, there’s a reason poVoq was the only mod here.

Hopefully there will be some people willing to moderate !europe@feddit.org, or !europe@lemm.ee, it doesn’t matter that much in the end

I am not sure I got your comment right
Lemm.ee is an English speaking European instance that could host the !Europe instance.
It is different in that regard compared to feddit.dk, feddit.org, feddit.UK, jlai.lu, feddit.org, I don’t think there is even an Estonian speaking community on Lemm.ee
All of the other instances named in the previous paragraph have a focus on their local language, lemm.ee does not.

There’s also !europe@jlai.lu - but it seems to be exclusively francophone.

To be honest, I didn’t volunteer because it’s a news community with a large audience. Debates can get nasty, and that’s something I try to avoid.
I guess a lot of other people are in the same case, and why you were the only mod here
