The DNC and GOP are not hostile factions, but different wings of Capital. Organizing goes a lot further than random collective actions, but the tedious work of building organized structures, party building, doing the groundwork. We need to study former successful revolutions like the Russian, Chinese, Cuban, Vietnamese, etc and adapt what we can apply to our revolution. Parties like PSL in the US are already doing that, and are rapidly growing because they are at the forefront of resistance movements.

I think a strong understanding of Marxism helps seed the revolutionary optimism that makes watching the news more bearable than for liberals who see the world as a scary swirl of chaos and no way out. Lenin says it well:

The winning strategy has always been worker organizing, and it certainly isn’t too late to mitigate the damage of Climate Change. Handcuffing yourself because we have no way of acting within the rules set out by the system is the exact type of nihilism the system is designed to instill, even Climate Doomerism is a tool of the oil barons to demoralize activists and organizers. We can change, and it takes organizing and overthrow of the present state of things, not playing a game created by the House to only ever allow them to win.

The US has hundreds more millitary bases around the world than any other country. It dominates the world financially via Imperialism, it intentionally underdevelops countries in the global south in order to have them reliant on US food exports so the US gets cheap imports.

Some countries do call out the US Empire for what it is. Palestine, the former USSR, the PRC, Cuba, DPRK, South Africa, Iran, the Russian Federation, all countries the US Empire thoroughly demonizes and propagandizes against as much as it can.

The good news is that the Empire is crumbling, so hopefully we can overthrow it and replace it with a Socialist system.

“Radio Free X” news outlets are generally all US State Department propaganda designed to discredit and de-legitimize their geopolitical adversaries, famously the USSR and PRC, but also Cuba, etc. It’s all very real.

The profit motive is an exceptionally inefficient motivator for creating quality goods and services, while producing based on needs often results in more risks being taken and a higher quality end result, as the goal is to fulfill the need and not to take a profit. It’s easy to see the failures of Windows over time vs Linux when it comes to being a quality OS, but this extends to Socialist economies like the PRC, which despite being a developing country has developed far better and more extensive infrastructure than the US, such as a robust High Speed Rail network. Even Cuba, with all of the sanctions and embargoes, has one of the best healthcare systems in the world. When compared with economic peers, it isn’t even close.

What Capitalism brings is massive disparity, centralization of Capital, a fusing of bank and industrial Capital, dominance of financial Capital, Imperialism, de-industrialization, stagnation, and then crisis. Socialism is that next step beyond Capitalism where Humanity directs production according to a common and deliberate plan, rather than submitting to the chaos of the market and the plunder it requires to be satiated.

It’s less a coup, and more the bourgeousie opting for a hammer to try to save itself from the trap it fell into by de-industrializing and shifting most production overseas. But you’re right, revolution becomes more likely.

Europe isn’t Socialist, it’s Capitalist but more solidly focused on welfare. Just like the US (and Canada) though, they depend on massive exploitation of the global south. Marxists call this “Imperialism.” Imperialism is the highest, dying stage of Capitalism, where Capitalism cannot sustain itself internally and seeks external sources to prolong itself. Imperialism also causes the Imperialized to go against it, though, and because industrialized production largely gets shipped overseas, this leaves Imperialist countries in struggle.

Right now, Trump is trying to restart USian manufacturing, but it isn’t working. China is quickly overtaking it, because it is both a Socialist country and therefore can more effectively plan for the long term, and has a far larger industrial capacity.

The optimism is that it will likely get better after it gets worse. Imperialism needs to be killed, but in killing it we can move beyond financial dominance and into a collaborative, industrialized economy based on collective planning, ie Socialism. In short, revolution allows us to shift from a privately driven economy to a publicly driven economy, and this revolution becomes more likely as time goes on due to conditions worsening. Capitalism can’t save itself because it isn’t profitable to reindustrialize, due to an era of financial dominance, only a massive FDR style New Deal could delay this process, or people continuing to capitulate to the US Empire.

That justification was made after the fact. The truth is that Japan was already going to surrender. This isn’t a conspiracy theory either, it’s modern historical consensus, even the US Navy’s museum admits so. The USSR had just taken Berlin and the Nazis surrendered on May 8, and declared war on Imperial Japan on August 8 after both Japan and the US had seen the Red Army pivoting to their East, towards Manchuria.

On August 9th, the Soviets invaded Japanese-controlled Manchuria, and Japan announced surrender on August 15th. The nukes were launched on the 6th and 9th of August, because the US didn’t want Japan to go Soviet, the US had plans of reforming Imperial Japan as a subsidiary Empire, maintaining Japan’s colonization of Korea and other Asian countries while profiting off of Japan, in a form of double Imperialism, and a Soviet Japan wouldn’t let that work. Their plan was thrown to dust with the Korean War that followed.

While publicly stating their intent to fight on to the bitter end, Japan’s leaders (the Supreme Council for the Direction of the War, also known as the “Big Six”) were privately making entreaties to the publicly neutral Soviet Union to mediate peace on terms more favorable to the Japanese. While maintaining a sufficient level of diplomatic engagement with the Japanese to give them the impression they might be willing to mediate, the Soviets were covertly preparing to attack Japanese forces in Manchuria and Korea (in addition to South Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands) in fulfillment of promises they had secretly made to the US and the UK at the Tehran and Yalta Conferences.

Your counter was that some members of the Red Army committed atrocities against civilians, which is true but doesn’t negate that all armies were committing atrocities, and the Red Army took it the most seriously by executing rapists.

What’s your point, then? Would the Nazis winning the war be the “good guys” winning, in your eyes? Or are you under the mistaken impression that the war could have been won without the tremendous price paid by the Soviet people? We were talking about the Red Army, not the Russian millitary in general. Is your point that sexual assault is genetic to Russians, or are you under the impression that Russia is still Socialist? The former would be racist, the latter would be a critical misunderstanding of Russian history.

Further, again, all armies commit assaults. This does not make any excess acceptable whatsoever, but it does mean we need to look at what the armies do internally to suppress it. We can see that the Ukrainian army is also guilty of sexual assault:
