German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has acknowledged that Germany’s decision to abandon nuclear energy was a “serious strategic mistake” and criticized the country’s current energy transition as the most expensive in the world.

I think letting an “ally” bomb your energy infrastructure and looking the other way was also a strategic mistake, but what do I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Too little too late. Rebuilding Germany’s nuclear energy would take at least a decade now. And we don’t have the political will to do it anyway.

dismantling the nuclear industry had to be the single dumbest political move in recent history

Tbh I prefer Germany not to have a nuclear industry.

I think Germany is more likely to actually use tactical nukes instead of just piling them up for MAD than most countries.
