If you go to the Amazon kindle store and look at the Cyberpunk category, you’ll find nothing but LitRPG. And while I have nothing against LitRPG as a genre, it isn’t cyberpunk. And it’s making it impossible for me to actually find new cyberpunk books.

So where do you go to find new cyberpunk books to read? Note that I’m not asking for a list of recommendations for cyberpunk books, I’m asking how you learn about or find new cyberpunk books. Do you have some clever trick for navigating the kindle store? Or is there a better website for finding new books? I know the kindle store has plenty of cyberpunk books, I just don’t have a good way to find them. Right now, all I can do is find a book I’ve already read and check the Customers Also Enjoyed section in the hopes that it’ll point me somewhere new.

Do you have any tricks that can help me out?

If you have a library card and they offer Hoopla as a service, you might give that a try. Pick a cyberpunk book or two through Hoopla, borrow’em, and it may try to start suggesting others if they’re available.

Might also look into Bookwyrm instances. It’s like Goodreads but federated. Taking a glance at one of its larger instances and searching for Neuromancer, you can find lists people have made of cyberpunk books they’ve read. I realize you’re not asking for lists of recommendations, but if the people making these lists are reading widely, they may introduce you to some different cyberpunk books to check out.

There’s also Storygraph as another option, but to make any use of it you have to sign up and feed it info on your preferences, some books you’ve read, and then it tries to recommend books to you based on that and some other info. Not used it much myself so can’t speak to how well it works though.

Lastly, and this is kind of an odd one, you might keep an eye on Reactor/TOR.com, as scifi/fantasy is basically their focus. They’re owned by TOR Publishing, so that’s to be expected, but they also give away some free short story collections on there, which while not books, may introduce you to authors writing cyberpunk.
