I think choosing not to continue the character arcs from Legacy is a good decision since that movie wraps up pretty well. We don’t need another Matrix Resurrections with a weak excuse to bring back the old stars.
Leto can be okay as a quirky villain if the rest of the cast can carry him (like in Bladerunner as opposed to Suicide Squad).
I would’ve liked a little more of an epilogue for the characters in Tron: Legacy if they were done with that story. Bringing Quora into the real world seems like a big deal so it’s strange to just leave it at that.
With that said, I’m totally fine with Tron becoming more of an anthology franchise. It’s the world that’s interesting, not any single character. So I’d be perfectly happy just having random glimpses into this world.
But with Jared Leto as the lead? We’ll see. I agree he can do great in a supporting role but it usually doesn’t go well when he’s the lead.
