I think it’s because they’re raised from birth having only heard these absurd notions and many never consider if they are truly absurd or not. It’s kinda sad.

@666@Sprocketfree no, it’s because, unlike NK or China, in US these numbers come from variety of sources which makes them verifiable. In contrast China an NK numbers come from the government only and no actual verification is possible.
UNDESA and organizations are still allowed in and typically collect information on other things such as mortality rates and causes of death. NK has 10k tourists a year and many more likely undeclared…do you think not a single other organization other than the NK government does at least some research when there is other organizations from global institutes doing similar research as well?
