very funny story ngl, starry eyed lib walks straight into the glass wall and is still kinda traumatised

edit: finally a place for the rosa quote, as it’s a good example: if you don’t move you won’t notice your chains

but I am sympathetic to an extent, running into the wall in such a way is a marker of good faith imo, particularly if you’re willing to reflect publicly afterwards

I definitely have respect for having the capacity to do some introspection in light of the experience. The true failing of liberals does not lie in ignorance, but in their devotion to it. They clutch to it like a security blanket, as if the act of not knowing were a virtue rather than a vice. It is not stupidity, but a wilful, self-satisfied refusal to step out of their bubble, that renders them so insufferable.

I understand and share your frustration, but honestly my favourite marx quote is the one where he says: nothing human is alien to me

i think via the roman terence or smth

takes the sting out of my frustrations, which i find helpful

For me, watching liberals having to grapple with the fact that their system is now starting to come apart is what takes the sting out of frustration. The liberals are increasingly forced to grapple with the world as it really is, and some end up having the courage and integrity to actually do introspection. The times of crisis provide an invaluable opportunity to educate people.
