      In 14 states it’s totally legal. Also, not a single case of rabies in the US has ever come from a squirrel. They can be a pet as much as a rat can be a pet and those are allowed in pretty much any state.

      Squirrels are just bushy tailed tree rats, rats are not prohibited or require permits in any state. The law is idiotic and killing an animal because the owner didn’t have papers is idiotic and spiteful.

        The animal wasn’t killed because the owner didn’t have papers. The animal was killed because it was on video several times biting it’s owner, and you cannot test for rabies without killing the animal and examining its brain.

          Rabies kills animals in about 10 days. We have years of videos… It didn’t have rabies. Since lived indoors you can also reasonably prove that it couldn’t get rabies either.
