        “pro-genocide” party?

Get your shit together man. I get you’re upset, anyone who’s read about it (or expereinced some of it) is. But calling the Democrats a pro-genocide party is absolutley insane. Grow the fuck up.

But calling the Democrats a pro-genocide party is absolutley insane.

I would have thought so too until the nominal head of the party decided to circumvent congress to sell weapons for genocide. Senate Democrats overwhelmingly voted against conditioning funds for Israel. I won’t fault them for the recent funding because that was in the bill for funds to Ukraine, which actually needs the money and isn’t committing genocide. A reasonable argument can be made that the only way they could pass it was with the assistance of the Republicans, who definitely love the genocide.

That said, I’ve seen how readily Democrats buckle under the slightest pressure. Somehow this is where they want to make a stand? This is where they grow a fucking backbone? Yeah, they’re a pro-genocide party. I want them to be better than that. You just want me to shut up.

You call me an insane child for noticing.

No I want you to grow up. Be more mature. How old are you? Have you seen American politics operate - first hand - for more than, what, ten years? How are you expecting this whole thing works? You’re gonna go to the local Dems office and hear a bunch of chatter about genociding the Palestinians? FFS.

No one is for it and I have to think you’re aware that it doesn’t work like you’re implying so either you’re a troll or a het-up kid who hasn’t seen much about how large organizations work yet.

“You must be younger than me and therefore wrong” is about the boomeriest argument.

Have you seen American politics operate - first hand - for more than, what, ten years?

              Yes.

How are you expecting this whole thing works?

Well, about like it’s shaking out right now. Democrats outdo themselves in their capacity to disgust me with their moral cowardice, and then I get called a child for being unhappy, often by people who are satisfied with Democrats’ behavior.

              No one is for it

And yet no one seems to be trying to stop it. Biden is still selling Netanyahu weapons. Senate Democrats haven’t revisited conditioning aid, and overwhelmingly voted not to last time it was brought before them. These aren’t the actions of a party that opposes genocide.

And Republicans are certainly for it.

"Donald Trump and other prominent Republicans are seizing on the eruption of campus protests across the country to depict the United States as out of control under President Biden, seeking to use the mostly peaceful demonstrations as a political cudgel against the Democrats,” the Washington Post reports.

“Beyond the disruption to campus life, top Republicans have highlighted the antisemitic chants that have occurred at some of the protests. The issue is complicated by a debate over what constitutes antisemitism — and when criticism of Israel crosses that line — while some student organizers have denounced the chants or said they are coming from outside activists.”

New York Times: “With pro-Palestinian protests spreading across campuses nationwide, university leaders have had to confront a central question: When does a demonstration cross the line?”

I used to think “that’s the way we’ve always done it” was the shittiest excuse centrists have for their uncharacteristically steadfast support of genocide.

I was wrong. The shittiest excuse is “we care what the people who chant ‘Jews will not replace us’ have to say about antisemitism.”
