Pas de parenté réelle avec l’écrivain.
Bâtard d’une diaspora honnie. Ne parle pas la langue.
Procédurier chaotique.

I’m not saying the Ancient Greeks were nice, but I think politicians, especially career politicians, should face drastic consequences for betraying the constitution of the countries they’re supposed to serve. And classical Athens was only a minority of rulers among people who didn’t have any rights, but their institutions had some aspects that were more robust than modern States that have no checks and balances and rely on “but no one would ever do that”.
French police and municipalities have been using illegal surveillance (like Briefcam with the facial recognition enabled) for a long time and there are also no consequences, except for the fact the surveillance is being made increasingly legal because they “need” it.

Classical Athens punished the people who proposed evil laws with fines or way worse. But our enlightened ”democracies” just let this happen without repercussions.

You can spoof IMEI and pretend your phone is an old iPhone. Carriers wouldn’t know.
It’s so pleasant that DM has clean toilets for when I’ve poorly planned my liquid intake, shops in France don’t generally have toilets for the public and the malls that do don’t really care if they’re clean it seems.

Vuvuzelas.

I’ve always found the people who consider them high-brow TV arrogant, they’ve been a platform for crackpots forever. They love pseudoscientific bullshit… So if you have more than 4 brain cells you can dismiss quite a few documentaries. It’s sad because they produce and/or show a lot of good stuff.

Not only that but recent lineups from a lot of manufacturers have 95% of the same power train including essential parts, and loads of different models with different tunes. The lowest trim BMW 1 series from a few years ago can be tuned to 200 HP without any mods… it’s illegal in a lot of places, it doesn’t stop people.
It’s Switzerland. Not many thefts.
They’re fine on disused tracks to make the land more useful, which they’re doing in France.
AliExpress at least lets you buy close to the source of a lot of goods that you won’t find made elsewhere than China. Some stuff I find there exists from European makers, latest example, trim clips for cars: you can buy Restagraf but you need to live near a car body shop supplier that will be willing to sell you a few clips without insane markups.

If they get fined often they’ll stop.

In English they’re called reflex cameras. No one makes them now.

I wonder if it would even show if they didn’t count fuel prices in the index, because they’ve been low for months.
So that’s why the keyboards are waterproof too?!

LVMH still have a lot of workers in France. They can afford it with their insane margins and that way they can say stuff is made there (it doesn’t mean they actually care, some components are from cheaper countries).

I go to Germany regularly, never been checked. Police go to the same supermarket to do their shopping but they don’t check the border. There’s thousands of roads they’d have to monitor 24/7. Even during COVID restrictions small roads were never monitored consistently.
It’s also a concern with methylphenidate and is actually checked when it’s given to children.

I don’t know if I am fun but filling forms online sure beats losing years worth of income to my own stupidity if I were to be intoxicated (which I do not do anymore but you never know…).
France. Recipes are sometimes not at all what is pictured, they always tell you to use way too much salt and I feel like some ingredients get updated and they never check the recipe. The portions are very uneven and most of the time very small. If you know how to cook it’s fine and you end up with edible food. If you blindly follow the recipe you’ll end up with junk half the time.
They pretend they cut food waste but I always end up with loads of seasonings in little bags because they give too much of everything. I’d rather have more of the base ingredients…
Their marketing is also toxic shit and they have the nasty trait of only giving vouchers when there’s an issue (pesto bag exploding for instance…).
I would not recommend.
