4·5 months agoI try not to be there anymore, but there are still vestiges . But there are some group stuff i am trying to get to migrate to other places. This was a link somebody sent me.
Now that I think about it that commercial might have been on snap between stories. Snap is also bloating up fast these days.

Wait. Is that last one really home?

4·7 months agoIs that word related to not answeting negative to anything? Some of the IT consultants i have worked with from south asia would never say no to anything, even if they had no idea what I meant and I asked them if they understood. This made working with those consultants nearly impossible.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your favourite less well known app/software?
5·7 months agoDevToys. It’s an awesome cross-platform swiss army knife for developers. It’s got most of the little tools that you would look up online.
Formatters, encoding/decoding, validators etc.
I really love it!

7·7 months agoWe have the equivalent luftslott in Norwegian as well. Often used about the things politicians are trying to sell us during their campaigns. I feel like we have a word similar to the second one as well, but I cannot remember what it would be.
We have a lot of the same words as you in general though.
Ost - Norwegian
Oh man! That took me down memory lane!
I once had to reverse engineer a database to make an invoice integration. They had an int named flags. It contained all status booleans in the entire system. Took me a while to figure that one out.
Store 8 bits in the same byte then 👌
It’s a normal image macro meme that op just added text to.

371·11 months agoWas Skype really relevant when the pandemic hit? Nobody I knew used it anymore. And teams had mostly taken over for Skype for business by then as well.

1·1 year agoYeah, I wouldn’t want my account tied to my bankid either. But bankid could easily make an age verification that wasn’t tied to accounts.

21·1 year agoI don’t think BankID has any sort of SDK that lets other apps access user data like that? All interaction with BankID I know of at least is triggered with the app needing authentication/signature opening a BankID session to the central service where you enter your authentication and then the BankID app is used as MFA to verify this.
Or am I misunderstanding what you are saying completely?

Technology@lemmy.world•Norwegian government to set 15-year age limit for using social mediaEnglish
6·1 year agoMost kids here in Norway get a bank account with debet card and BankID with it at 13. Implementing a solution to use it to verify if you are older than X years old would actually be less work than your proposed solution, both for the social media site, banks, the kids and the parents.

1·1 year agoBankID is it’s own trusted platform. It is not connected to any of them. I am not sure if I understand what the other person is trying to say. Maybe they are afraid that Google and Apple can use BankID verified sessions to better identify the user?
Any alternatives for iOS?

I guess you get good at Unix and refrigerator by reading it, so why not?
