2011·1 month agoThe ukranians are genocidal? Sorry, what?
EDIT: sorry I stirred trouble. I think its good to be critical of any government. From what I know, Ukraine’s military is mostly killing invaders, which is not what I would characturize as a genocide on their part. On the other hand Israel’s military…

Europe@feddit.org•Trump says France must scrap tech 'sales tax' or face 100% wine tariffs: NY PostEnglish
6·2 months agoUnsurprisingly, that doesn’t seem to be true, but also the studies seem to arrive at pretty different numbers about how much worse it is.
Some authors, such as Neto et al. (2013), show that the distribution of wine has a relatively small impact of 1.9% (0.05 kg CO2e/bottle of 750 ml) relative to the viticulture and wine bottling stages in the supply chain. Others, such as Bonamente et al. (2016), estimate the distribution of bottled wine to represent approximately 41.1% of the total life cycle emissions of wine at consumption.

I hope people sue the indexes for changing the rules. Im not sure its possible but it really makes an index meaningless if its not consistent.

Europe@feddit.org•Europe set for easier train journeys as EU unveils single-ticket planEnglish
2·3 months agoFinding the international itinerary and the prices is such a pain currently. If you can easily compare routes then buying them isn’t so bad.
Trainline.com is OK, but they still don’t have all of the routes so its often better/required to buy from the national provider.
Hopefully transitous.org will solve the problem of stitching the routes together and then someone will build the automated payment and ticket management on top of it.

Im pretty sure Mistral was using AWS before. It is a shame
