He’s always been a fake. Claims to be “just calling balls and strikes” but actually has a center-right agenda. He had a good parlay in 2008 and people have been treating him like a sorcerer ever since.

No one’s questioning that you saw a Cybertruck, just that you actually said those things to the owner.
A good friend of mine is a Lutheran pastor. She explained that, contrary to what I was taught in Catholic school, “taking the Lord’s name in vain” doesn’t mean swearing or saying “god damn it.” It means to bring up god or religion for your personal benefit. And, you know, of course it does. It’s amazing how religious schooling gives people permission to twist language around like that.
Thank you kindly for pointing it out. It seemed just realistic enough to be sincere.
They created basically everything in the economy? What do you mean by that and what do you think “economy” means?
Are you saying people should stop criticizing Biden because a spokesman “expects” Israel to stop genociding? He still sent billions of dollars in weapons long after it was clear was Israel is doing.
From the article:
The pilot program targeted people with simple tax returns based on W-2 forms. In her remarks today Yellen said that over the next few years they will expand Direct File to support more situations.
A friend who worked at Meta said pretty concisely, “You get rewarded for coming up with something new, not improving something old.”
Ah yes, the chosen tribes of rich and poor. Good thing I chose rich!
Well as a native English speaker, I didn’t see how he’s relating the two at all. He’s just saying two unrelated things one after the other, with no segue. It’s just braindead.
IMO Usenet is worth the cost. It’s a different process than torrenting, with some extra steps, but once you wrap your head around it it’s fairly simple. Depending on the indexer you use, Usenet can be much better organized and easier to find what you’re looking for.
At best he misinterprets his data, and at worst he deliberately misinterprets them to fit an agenda. Many of his takes are subjective and meaningless. “My data show that Biden’s chance of winning Wisconsin is… ‘medium’ to ‘pretty good.’”
Knives, the cutting implement? Not The Knife, the Swedish electronic band?
A few years back Dana White said he was going to crack down on illegal UFC streams. Then one night at a press conference he announced, “You guys remember the guy I was talking about who was doing the illegal streams? WE GOT HIM. He apologized and promised he’ll never do it again.” These losers are completely out of touch.
I didn’t know this context. I knew he was being pressured to resign, but I assumed it was by angry constituents.

I’m not arguing that the drug schedules are legitimate. Clearly having weed and heroin in the same category is ludicrous. I’m arguing that the authors use of “controlled substances” is technically true but a little dramatic as modafinil is schedule IV. I’ve been prescribed both modafinil and Adderall, and I can say that modafinil does not act or feel like a stimulant, and it’s not habit-forming.
“Stop thinking that” is a pretty harmless colloquialism.
They get it, but they believe that some lives are less important than others. When someone holds that position I haven’t found an argument to convince them otherwise.
