I’m not talking about wearing a suit. I’m talking about being clean and well groomed, showing that you care about your appearance.

By dressing nicely you show respect for other people.

Companies like this spend a lot of money on lawyers writing up ‘terms and conditions’ for the sole reason of shielding them from legal liability and the ability to put those protections in place just from the user selecting a checkbox. But my fear is that this case will just be another example used in the argument for age verification, and identification, online.

Go to a really nice dinner and put the rest towards my wedding anniversary.

Why would you ever think it would?

I’m not monolithic.

As an old person I can also say that old people don’t trust AI, or the leaders of those companies, or the current administration…

I can only hope he finds himself in financial distress and has to worry about how he’ll pay his bills. Saying he’ll work for $1 a year tells me that’s probably not going to happen.

Speaking of fish ancestors, my wife is playing a video game called the Sinking City and it has some half-fish/half-human characters that are very creepy.

To me, “deep talk” is discussing things like Susan Sontag’s book On Photography, Thomas Mann’s The Magic Mountain or Wittgenstein’s Tractatus Logico Philosophicus . What you’re describing is actually the curiosity and openness and the willingness to think about things. That’s fantastic.
I think it just comes from our tastes, our experiences, our associations, and our mindsets. My general rule though is that the nicer the restaurant the more willing I am to try new things. I generally don’t like sea urchin at all, but if it was offered in a 3 Michelin star restaurant I’d be much more likely to try it. If it’s offered in just a regular sushi restaurant I won’t eat it.

I’ve found that once I began to view religion through the lens of reason no aspect of it provided any comfort whatsoever. The architecture, the serenity… all laid bare as a ruse. Religious artifacts, the physical, tangible aspects of a belief system all shown to be hollow and barren, and therefore stripped of any quality of serenity or comfort and serve only as an example of the capacity of mankind to be willing to accept what amounts to the suppression of other men over ourselves.

Oh man, I’m really sorry you spent so many years being sad because you kept thinking about a one-winged dove.

You only need one song at loud volume. Lou Reed’s Metal Machine Music, Pt 3. They’ll be up and out in less than 30 seconds.

How long do the blades last?
Someone just needs to tell Trump what building the bond market is in and he can station some tanks in front of it and let them know he’ll start shooting if they don’t do what he wants.
