  • Taylor Swift was always technically popular but surged in popularity following a few events where she sang. For about a few months, that’s all anyone ever wanted to talk about, and there was even an infamous incident where mayhem was erupting in Canada while Justin Trudeau was at a Taylor Swift concert. In short, for those few months, she became one of those “overrated” people like we tend to think of Justin Bieber as.

Then came time for the Superbowl, and an unfortunate string of circumstances led to it being highly politicized (in the semifinals, the Buffalo Bills were cheated out of going to the Superbowl by referees who were biased towards the Kansas City Chiefs, and people were boycotting the Superbowl until the people there had the bright idea of having Donald Trump book a seat in order to boost ratings). Taylor Swift made an appearance at the Superbowl too, but the specific demographics of the Superbowl caused by the presidential gimmick they threw in ended up creating a crowd that disliked her and booed her, which in turn instantly popped the trend bubble. Which to be fair is unfair, she never asked for any of this and was just riding the wave so-to-speak until it came crashing down in an outburst of hate.

  • I can’t say I don’t relate in a way. It was unusual that people ever banded in my favor, and they still technically see me as the odd one out, just in a way where I’m at least good enough to defend under those circumstances (perhaps they were defending more than me, though I’m not going to look a gift horse in the mouth here, and I’m not saying any of this to throw shade). Before I lived where I do, I was in another area with a similar “town” environment but which was very openly selective, once literally caring enough about the school janitor to announce his retirement on the announcements but then do nothing when one of us had our life changed forever due to a car accident. I tend to find myself on the bad side of cliques because of how different I come across and could typically never count on community support. But then circumstances end up surprising everyone, and hard.

My own mother was shamed out of the her church mostly because people thought she was annoying

    What church was this?

  • It depends on how long you wait and where you are bitten. The further a bite is from the brain, the longer you have to live, and the larger a mammal is, the longer it takes for the rabies to develop (so, for example, a whale bitten on the tail will take almost a decade for the rabies to develop and kill it).

However, even then, the shots aren’t just a one-time ordeal. You need to find a way to get a shot a day for I think twenty or so days before the rabies affects the brain. Remember that these are vaccines. There are no cures, you can only race against time to prevent it (or you can vaccinate yourself before there is any reason to fear, which is common in certain occupations).

Unless your circumstances are generous, like if you got bitten in a lucky spot with a lenient amount of rabies and then rushed immediately to the hospital, your chances of surviving are next to zero. The reason bat bites mean certain death is because they always bite on the neck, with people who don’t know the signature thorn-like feeling of a bat bite not realizing they were bitten fast enough to react in time (so yeah, if you feel a thorny sensation while walking at night, call someone immediately).
