There is a wast difference between the internet. That gives you access to information.
And social media with algoriths fine tuned to keep you there as long as possible.
Cameras everywhere is for sure a disaster for anyones sanity and development.
Like the exact same thing can not happen in a closed source codebase. It probably does daily. Since closed codebases the due dilligence and reviews cost money, and nobody can see the state. They are intentionally neglected.
Open source nor closed source is immune to the 5$ wrench hack
Xfree86 was sonetimes a mess. And i did not have a browser anymore when it refused to start. So man pages only.

In norway we have a word called “kjøpekraft” or purchasing power. It is basically how much goods you can buy for your salery. And about the only statistic that is relevant for normal people. Tried to find something similar in that article, but did not.
I find this to be least acurate with debian… on other distros a patch may or may not install a new version of that package. that can bring changes to the behavior.
On debian stable the security issues are backported. So you can patch and be sure that there is no changes to the behavior of the system. It is basically the reason all vm’s i manage are debian stable.
It is also true they never crash. But that is expected of linux. It is the extreme reliabillity that is the debian killer feature for me.
Unatended-upgrades keeps all systems securly patched. But there is a need for a reboot for kernel updates now and then.
If you are into networking the packetpushers podcast are very good, if you do not have the time for podcasts, they also have a newsletter.

The eu do not have the huge stockpiles of weapons and ammo that the US have. While they have promised aid for ukraine. That often needs to be built in factories first.
We absolutly dropped the dot from the word in informal speak. Probably 2 days after owning one… “matriseskrivar” was much easier than “punktmatriseskrivar”
Had the nic set to that. Any package on the network. Did not matter who it was for. If the nic saw it, it would wake the machine up.
But there are so very many games that do work. That those that do not, i can easily ignore.
Never been an issue for me debian+kde+steam it started right up the first time i tried. No tweaking needed.
