Reddit is not even “liberal” anymore. The people on the conservative sub will say that it is but its been shifting rightward for years. There are a lot of people getting permad over things that in the past would have had broad agreement.

How many YouTube competitors have risen up and died since it first started? PeerTube is fine but there’s no AdSense so the really big an medium sized ones won’t move over. There aren’t enough viewers for sponsorships to be worth while so it’s purely passion that will drive people to upload onto it, which is great but it basically limits the uploads to people who are techy enough or care enough about decentralization to go out of their way to not get payed.

The war is over but battles still rage on. Some people really hate the concept of standardization.

How the hell do you learn to use nix. I’m not a programer but figured out how to run gentoo just fine with the guide. nixOS feels like I’m in a mirror maze in the dark and the room is rotating.

I’ve seen mostly around 1/3 which is not nothing.

I wouldn’t boil down TST or COS to edgy atheists. I think a lot of people were deeply hurt by religion and the TST spends a of time trying make sure that local governments follow the first amendment. The COS isn’t really theistic but they are absolutely a religion that does more than just be edgy.

The trick is that they have to already want to do it. Or you have to have a position lined up for them if they go out of politics.
