I’m so sorry that happened, truly. Honestly, though, you deserved to have better medical guidance during that time and it really isn’t your fault for not knowing. I think that at that point, though, it was way more important for her to be comfortable above all else. She was lucky to have you there.

i was a personal trainer for a bit and honestly if you were my client id ask you to go get guidelines from a physical therapist first. swimming and light calisthenics should be fine, but listen to your body first and do not push it/make it hurt

i used to be so anxious and shy i could hardly say a word to my best friends from childhood. you embarrass yourself over and over till it starts to get a little easier. now i can talk to a group of people i dont know well with only a little anxiety
i like to read philosophy. buddhist, islamic, hindu, european. doesnt matter. you can find stories of people going through the worst shit imaginable and finding peace. gives me hope
i dont think ill ever be in the mindset to get massively ripped off by a shitty company in buttfuck nowhere florida. no hate to people who enjoy it but it used to be a more reasonably priced endeavor. now the prices are worse and the lines longer than ever. with that kind of money id rather take a week in a cabin or nyc or something

some counties also have “no wrong number” programs, so if you can get a call to, say, the health department, they can redirect you to better services
i wouldnt hesitate to reach out to family down south as they may be most able to legally help you. i would not call the cops, they are useless. hunt for shelter and other hotlines, ideally chats if the walls are thin!
my parents and my grandma have each lost an animal due to unnecessary/overdone procedures… likely so the vet could make more money. most recently our family cat nearly died because they gave him a leukemia vaccine even though his breed is known to be allergic to leukemia vaccines and we brought it up. i wont even get my cats teeth done and ask about every shot they put in him because i am so paranoid
