I hope they add DuckDuckGo as a provider. I use their chat with Mixtral often.

They already have, and they offer optional ones that take more force to move.
there are a lot of reasons to dislike LTT outside of this incident. I don’t have anything against them, but I can understand why others would.
I’ve tried a few extensions, but they haven’t felt as integrated as the one’s in Floorp, due to firefox limitations. The main reason I want vertical tabs is to save vertical screen space by removing the horizontal tab bar, which can be done with userchrome.css, but thats inconvenient to do on multiple devices. I appreciate the recommendation though, I haven’t used that one and it looks very powerful.
All great changes! I’ve been using Floorp to have vertical tabs, but I’d gladly switch back to Firefox when its implemented. Profiles have always been a great feature, but had a bad user experience, glad to see its being improved.
Really interested in the local AI. Firefox has been doing interesting work with that recently.
The same problem, but is has dramatically improved. Comparing the visibility and feel of the ridge on foldable phones from even two years ago to today is night and day. My roommate has the newest Samsung Flip and even coming directly from my phone its hardly noticeable.
I’ve had my eye on a 240hz 1440p OLED. A while ago you could only find them around $1k, now I can find them starting at $700. Not sure if prices have dropped similarly for ones with other specs.
I like lemmy’s design, but I thought it’s user onboarding process was pretty bad when I joined. It’s much better since the join-lemmy.org redesign.
Pretty much everything on the fediverse is just a clone of another social media. Pixelfed still has the most intuitive design for new users and a great onboarding process. Took Mastodon a while to catch up.
Dansup is seriously great at designing social platforms. I don’t have much personal use for it, as I never cared for instagram, but I think Pixelfed is the best designed platform on the Fediverse. I’m sure Loops will be great too. Fantastic name too.
Definitely. You don’t need to have a task bar or start menu in KDE, it’s just the default. I usually have on panel on the left or right with my workspaces and system tray. I use the overview to manage windows instead of a taskbar, like gnome. I put krunner, the built in app runner on super

They didn’t say Linux phone though, it could still be android with a custom ROM.
You can make KDE look entirely unlike Windows, its just up to preference.
The difference is this can be customized exactly as they want. It may be similar, but the little differences are stuff that you can’t change in Windows.
Lemmy is FOSS and largely used by anticapitalist tech nerds (I say this positively). Chrome is one of the most significant monopolies in tech. I don’t know why you wouldn’t expect this to be a common topic.
Firefox can always compete, because if it ever stopped existing Google would have an antitrust case on their hands. For the same reason, Google cannot violate web standards, like what has happened in previous browser wars.
I don’t agree that Firefox is unable to render a portion of the web, I’ve been using it for years and have never once run into a website that had a problem with my browser. I thought once that studentaid.gov did, but that turned out to be a problem with extensions. I’ve seen more websites that have issues with me using Linux than with Firefox.
They’re not just giving these AI companies your data…
It’s an optional feature, and you would choose which model you use. If you choose not to use it, or disable the feature, nobody will recieve your data. If you want a browser without these features, Librewolf will likely be a safe choice, as I don’t seem them adding this.
