She had a pretty big falling out with the president, and I’m actually surprised she followed through on her announcement to resign from Congress.
IIRC it’s been the tug of war rope meme a few times with her in the later half of last year.

Rusty shackleford, checking in

It’s not mentioned in the reporting, but according to the source they say it is going to be opt-in (or at least something with opt-in in mind)
You’re talking implementation. I’m talking practice.
Yes, selinux is open source, I can look up the documentation, etc.
But since I’m not IT it isn’t my job to manage selinux - from my perspective it’s just something that rears it’s head when there’s a policy I didn’t know about that interferes with me running my stuff.
So from the perspective of it not justifying Inflated wages, you’re probably right? Anyone can learn it. But in my experience few developers do.
I think as a developer I just have no idea what policies are applied, so it’s just “somethings fucky here” all the time. Maybe an organizational issue :)
Tbf selinux tends to be a hell of a black box. Anytime my shit doesn’t work and I can’t explain why, I default to blaming selinux and hit up IT. Seems like I’m right about half the time lol

Cute. Answer the questions.

Who do you think I was talking about when I said “the person you were currently talking to”?
That you lot dont understand nuance.
They said, without knowing what fucking lot I’m in. Jesus Christ you just bucket everyone that’s says something you don’t like into one group, but when it comes to yourself you understand the concept of individuals. Then you go around and complain about “you lot” not understanding nuance. Do you see the hypocrisy in your actions?
Did I say anything to you to cast me into “you lot”, besides just saying something you dislike? Can you define what that lot is?

A fortune teller told a father his kids were destined for stardom. Empowered by this, he forced the teen/adult kids to form a band. The result breaks all the rules of music. ALL of them. Ones that you don’t even know existed. Frank Zappa considers them better than the beatles

When you choose to paint with that wide of a brush, you’re setting yourself up to make false examples of hypocrisy. Do you have any evidence that the person who’s currently replying to you celebrated the killers actions?
I noticed that you suddenly understood nuance when accused of idolizing Charlie kirk.

I like it, but they do kinda just blend into each other.
I’d say def try searxng first. It turns out I mainly wanted a clean display of results instead of “better” results then Google. No ads, no ai shit. Kagi was nice but the difference didn’t justify a paid service for me, vs selfhosting.
I will say that I find searxng image search to be lacking, same with maps.

Unfortunately you’ll have to do your own research, I only know this exists and have never used it because my vacuum is incompatible.

In case anyone’s interested, there’s actually open-source self-hosted robot vacuum firmware for select models

Are we really going to start enlightened centrist memes over Linux?
I say this as someone who daily drives Linux on their framework laptop, who self hosts jellyfin, home assistant, searxng, ollama, etc.
For a lot of folks, their lives don’t revolve around computers. I know that folks on Lemmy tend to skew more towards that computer lifecycle, but we gotta recognize that we’re out of the norm in that regard.

I feel like they’re saying that what you described doesn’t equate to do getting hit in the face by your boyfriend, which is subjective.

How this same conversation can sound to non-technical folks:
“my boyfriend left his dirty socks in the living room AGAIN.”
“Well maybe you should switch boyfriends”
“…what?”

Damn, that actually was a wonderful talk, thank you for sharing.
To anyone who bristled at my earlier comment - if you’re looking for a solution, this video lays out a foundation for the different types of conversations folks can have, goes over why it’s important to differentiate between them, and gives concrete action items to take. It’s also just a well paced, riveting ted talk, to boot.
I wish more politicians would step down after that duration in Congress.
