I wanted to update the logo for my business, I tried hiring an artist though a number I know from having working for various comic cons. No luck, so I went to friends i knew that were artists, got strung along with no results. Tried hiring via Craigslist and Reddit, got garbage.
I was out $1600 with nothing to show for it except some sketches that were no where near what I wanted. So I tried using AI. It was horrid. Anything that was half decent was cropped and unusable.
Have you tried asking point blank if he is interested? Or asked at least if he would like to go onto date, specifically saying only you and him? If nothing else, have you asked any of the friends if he is interested? Or told any of them you are interested in him?
My wife and I met online in a game we played many years ago. We met in person and set up a date, but never said it was an actual date. I felt she was out of my league and me being a metal head and her being preppy figured there would be no interest. She felt the exact same way. A mutual friend knew we both liked one another and told us.
After a short time dating, a long time broken up, another short time dating we were married. But it took someone else telling us we liked each other, he may value your friendship and not want to make a move and chance damaging the friendship.

I live in rural NM. When I moved here we had Verizon home internet (cellular, with a data cap), centurylink (you are lucky if you get 3mpbs), and a line of sight wireless provider. The wireless was more expensive than CL, but more reliable and faster.
Then TDS fiber came to town, much better price, way better speeds, non existent customer service.
It is so bad I am considering going back to the wireless provider.

I would fix the gym/auditorium at my old high school (the drama club has to share it with all of the sports teams and PE, and all of drama’s stuff gets broken or stolen) so that drama has their own space.

I grew up in NM, we eat green chile on everything. Atomic Fireballs are child’s play in comparison.
I do not think I count as a klepto, but I used to shoplift as a kid a lot. It started when I was holiday shopping for my dad and he came around the corner while I had his gift in my hand. I stuck it (a 75¢ fishing lure) into my pocket. When I got home I realized I had never paid for it. So the next time I was at that shop I took a GI Joe or Star Wars figure. And then two and so on and so forth.
There was a bit of a thrill to it, we were also dirt poor (a pack of ramen for dinner for 3 people, no indoor plumbing, no phone), and on more than one occasion my parents “borrowed “ my money to pay bills and never returned it. Partly I felt it a way to get back at my parents.
My theft continued into my 20s. When my second kid was born it became out of necessity. Her mother would leave us for days at a time without formula, without a car, and without the shared atm card. When my 3rd kid was born I mostly stopped out of fear of being caught and losing my family. But when I saw something I felt was unjustly expensive I would still swipe it.
I have only ever stolen from large stores, Walmart, Safeway, etc, with the exception of the local pharmacy where I used to steal comics because the owner was a dick to me about my skate board.

I see Zippybot quite a lot as well. And then there is the rss feeder bot, but after blocking all of the communities from that instance I hardly, if ever see it.
For years I thought my copy of Pokémon Emerald was lost, but I recently found it and my GBA SP and it is intact with my entire 386 Pokédex fully completed. Sadly this find means that my late son’s copy of emerald is the one that was lost. A bitter sweet victory.
