  • Why am I getting the sense that Angela Merkel made an enormous mess of Germany in the energy sector in so many different ways?

From sucking on the kremlin’s pipeline, lowering Germany’s guard to corrupt and corrupting russian influence, to negotiating the short end of Beijing’s stick on renewables as stated in this article, I get this nagging sense of tepid myopia, of giving free reign to immediate corporate appetites and impulses, as if tomorrow wasn’t coming soon to cash its’ checks.

The more time passes, the more corrosively mediocre her legacy seems to become.

See here… corporations don’t know what is best for them in five years, ten years, all they always care about is “Gimme more more MORE MORE…! Gimme now now NOW NOW…!”, they have to be monitored and guided like impulsive children that might drink the goddamned bleach under the kitchen sink, they might start playing with matches and burn the whole goddamned house down.

It was an early December when I visited Venice, locals say it snows one day a year and I just happened to be there!

During peak summer season, I imagine by the turn of August any and all locals have had it up to HERE with the dense throngs of tourists and the logistics/infrastructure overload it all involves.

But during the low season, you get to see the local inhabitants come out with their guard down, relaxed and welcoming. Then somehow or other, I ended up at a party of university students from nearby Padua, they had rented a party hall behind a bar. They made me feel like an ambassador from another corner of the world, but also like one of their own.

Plus since the water is as cold as it gets in the year, it doesn’t smell, like they say it does when it’s hot and humid.

  • They voted for Brexit overwhelmingly

One ignorant tantrum after another, their minds not only closed, but forced shut and locked.

Just like all those ignorant expats living in places like Benidorm or Tenerife, they also voted overwhelmingly for Brexit, then when the hammer of the new strict rules came down on them, that ignorant, bitter and self-satisfied smirk was wiped from their faces.

They all probably still blame everyone around except themselves, as ignorance and stupidity tends to double, triple, quadruple down.

  • It is a proven fact that for the past decade at least, russia has participated in a constant social media misinformation “divide and conquer” campaign, their troll farms have been an openly known thing since brexit and the 2016 US election.

You see posts on twitter ‘n’ shit about Texas seceding from the US, supposedly texans talking about Texas among texans, then one of them drops a mention of the advantages of Houston being “a warm-water port”. As if anybody outside of russia, let alone a goddamned ignorant guns ‘n’ oil cowboy, would even know or care about the distinction between a near-arctic and warm-water port.

Sometimes their soiled black fake-Adidas knickers show this way, but most often they don’t, and there they are, stoking “local, patriotic dissent”… from the other goddamned side of the world.

  • Looks to me like some of the boys at Fermilab came up with an experiment to keep Schrodinger’s cat inside the box but visible the whole time.

Did you know that at Fermilab if you’re a boy, you get to play around with cool collapsable wave functions, and if you’re a girl, you get to play around with groovy flavor-changing neutrinos.

I remember time before time existed, on cold winter mornings we’d gather around in front of our Model T and turned that crank just below the grill.
Back then we also had to crank-watch television in black and white, uphill, backwards both ways, during snowstorms… just to get to bed.
