When RIF shit down, talklittle sent people over to lemmy.world as a replacement for reddit (even though he himself went to tildes). The signup page was laggy so I signed up for a different instance instead.

That seems unnecessary.

The larger the file, the more patterns that can be compressed. Plus some of the dictionary overhead will be duplicated in multiple files.

The single file should be, at most, no larger than the sum of smaller files. But potentially much smaller.

It happens when the cars with the aftermarket sound systems roll by, because it still happens when we can hear it, but it also happens when it’s too far away for anyone else to hear. I associate it with deep bass, but I don’t actually know what’s causing the effect.
