I used another of the old HDDs sitting in my desktop, I don’t recall the brand / model

I love another cover by We’re Wolves

Can you remove paid games from your library? I have removed a few f2p ones, most notably Apex Legends after removal of linux support. Turns out you can add them back and your hours, achievements will be right back.
Happened to me last weekend. I made a backup because I was going to wipe out linux temporarily. I decided to backup with timeshift instead of my typical rsync -aAXH because having a GUI was nice.
Timeshift refused to restore the backup. It first complained about my subvolume layout, when I made it happy it restored all my files then promptly deleted them. Fortunately backup is just rsync so I restored with rsync.
My intel mac’s cpu (i5-5250U) throttles to maintain 105 C

This is exactly why I love duckduckgo’s AI results built in to search. It appears when it is relevant (and yes you can nuke it from orbit so it never ever appears) and it always gives citations (2 websites) so I can go check if it is right or not. Sometimes it works wonders when regular search results are not relevant. Sometimes it fails hard. I can distinguish one from the other because I can always check the sources.

Me who stores important data on seagate external HDD with no backup reading the comments roasting seagate:
I had a gaming laptop whose CPU jumped to 92C immediately on load, the vendor replaced the heatsink + copper wires to solve the problem, the cooling system might be problematic instead of the CPU / mobo
And you can post a BBForums emoji?

Technically VLC buffers 1.5 seconds by default which actually broke streaming over SSHFS (phone’s filesystem mounted via KDE Connect) for me, had to increase buffer to 10 secs
Install Win7 version of solitaire

For Firefox I want that because FF’s menu is not visible by default and imo FF looks weird with menu enabled because its titlebar becomes thick. Global menu looks natural.

I’m surprised something like plaid even exists, i’d expect banks to cooperate with no one regarding customer data
