This tries to spin the narrative. The US (and other nations) support for Taiwan was caused by China preparing to swallow Taiwan which will destroy its freedom. It was not the other way around. The Chinese military has gotten bold and is harassing all sorrounding nations. They seem to have forgotten that war is bad. If they continue like that, they will start a war and the free world will unite and teach them what they have forgotten.

After the trump disaster I wouldn’t count other far rights out yet. On the contrary: AfDs success in German states is deeply concerning. Their propaganda reaches young voters best. Polls sometimes are off.

Scholz is not the only one who doesn’t like the idea. There will be multiple pro russian parties or russian sponsored ones on the ballot, like BSW and AfD for example. Unlike the US, in Germany they can team up and rule as a coalition, if they find common ground.

I also don’t understand why their algos cater nazi, racist and nationalist propaganda to young people. Being international corpos, they should be aware they are creating their own worst enemies. No, everything about his little handiwork was bad, but there are law’s against nazi symbolism in Germany. The guy chose to use the short word “Scheiss” for “shitty” and specifically wrote it with the replacement double S instead of the normal ß at the end, just so he could cram in a nazi symbol. So yeah, he went above and beyond to get in trouble.

The other stuff is bad as well, but he could maybe argue his way out of it as laws about it are kinda vague.

I’m in EU and I have 2 different internet connections without a data cap, because I work from home and don’t want to commute to the office if one type is down. Both have bandwith caps tho (that way they are cheaper and it’s still good enough for me).

However, I want to suggest you use traffic shaping. In Linux, I used “trickle” many years ago, so I could download things without disturbing my family streaming or video calling. Idk how it works in other OSes, but the idea is to send a big download through a special network filter that slows it down to your configured bandwith, delaying it so much that you don’t reach your bandwidth cap. (The dowload will take months.) Also, I think I have seen something like this built into Steam and Filezilla. If I remember correctly Steam also had the option to pause downloads manually, but you have to remember to keep an eye on it, if you do that.
