I hope you’re enjoying the community!
While we appreciate all the users sharing their favourite album covers, it seems that a new guideline needed to be added to the community:
Guideline 10: Keeping Fresh & Diverse · To ensure genre variety, each user may only post one submission per music genre every 72 hours (excluding sub-genres).
Why was this added?
Some users are posting the same album genres almost everyday. While I appreciate that, for effort and the content, I don’t want this community to become just one genre of music, and for other/new users to feel intimidated by that. This is a community made for all genres of music, where everyone feels comfortable sharing their favourite albums of any genre of music. Once again, thank you to everyone who has shared their favourite albums. But please, from now on, maintain a certain diversity in the music genres of the albums you share.
You’re free to post the back/inside and/or other things about an album. The correct way of doing this is including them in the post. The main picture must always be the cover itself, if it’s cropped or not, what matters it’s the quality of it (Rule 2).

After the update of lemmy.world to the latest Lemmy version, posts submitted by users in this instance now show as a ‘image’ instead of a link in Mastodon. If you’re interested in following the community on Mastodon: https://your-mastodon.instance/@albumartporn@lemmy.world or search for @albumartporn@lemmy.world
If you only want to see the album covers, follow the hashtag: #albumartporn (of course, this way, there’s a chance that content from outside the community may appear.)
Integration is still not perfect, but it’s a way of keeping up to date and ‘boost’ albums on there.
It has a vinyl edition, it has tracks, sounds interesting. Seems alright to me.

3·1 年前Thank you for pointing out! I messaged the mods of the other communities in the board to ask and put their communities in the sidebar. I also linked this board in my communities sidebar. Great way to discover all movie/cinema related communities :)
Yes, that’s the ideia. To allow people on lemmy/fediverse to post their own album covers. To prevent spam, there’s ‘Rule 6’, that would be more explicit for this case.
That’s the thing, I’m asking feedback about it so music artists on Lemmy/Fediverse can post their album covers and share their work without being deleted by this rule. Also, I want to edit the rule to make possible to post links to Bandcamp/videoclips, etc… possible.
