Requiring 50x the hardware no doubt
Eh I don’t really see a necessary use case to get angry over it… Transfers over WiFi have been faster than USB on pretty much all phones for a while now, and way more convenient.
I just drop files into my phone with kde connect. It means I can even start a transfer and wonder off with the phone and the mesh network keeps it going
I doubt it’s some conspiracy, but it does still suck. I’m on my 3rd USB port on my fp4 because I use wired earphones. Replaceable USB port was my initial reason for buying a fair phone otherwise I’d likely be buying a new phone every year.
USB C is not up to that kind of use, and BT ear buds suck…
The transfer speed over USB on mine probably doesn’t even pass USB 2 speeds anyway and I’ve had flagship phones in the past that were even slower over a cable. I guess if that’s still the case then there’s probably a good engineering argument to reduce complexity.
I wish I could ditch stock android but my business bank app refuses to run on e/os and I assume I’d have the same problem with graphene.
e/os was otherwise soo much better, and the increase in performance and battery life was huge.
If the 10hz reading implementation is good I may consider upgrading my fp4. A better camera would be nice too but if they get the power saving if that screen right then I’m interested…
Otherwise my fp4 has everything thing I need a phone to be
A thicker phone would be great. All these manufacturers forgot at some point we actually need to hold these things with a human hand.
Having said that my fp4 is actually a pretty good thickness. They just screwed that up by rounding the the edge so much seemingly to reduce contact grip.

That was great, the first comparison that came to mind after reading it was they are both a game of russian roulette…
Waymo - you get one chamber loaded with a blank, might kill you if you get it.
Tesla - you get one empty chamber… And the gun is loaded by your worst enemy

I barely use Amazon, it’s just 90% AliExpress stock at huge markup anyway, plus more importantly they’re evil. I do seem to have prime though, which I use to order something maybe every other month when it’s urgent for work. Thing is I’m not signed up for prime, it just activated when I linked an audible account to my business account years ago. I do use audible, to the limit of the credits anyway. So I’ve been kinda torn for ages and can’t bring myself to cancel as my old audible subscription seems to be giving me prime somehow for much less than prime is to sign up.
I just convince myself I’m playing the system…

Also Minecraft is a good example of why his argument is shit as that started off at a low price and increased as it became more complete
I bailed because the YTM algorithm is terrible compared to when it was Google music. It had got progressively worse and I really realised how bad it was when I subbed to Deezer for a trial. If they hadn’t trashed Google music by integrating it into YouTube I’d still be paying for premium if it came with both. Can’t imagine I’ll ever pay for it again now.
Oh so is this 22 like the rolling release Vs that? I should just look it up but I made both these comments on the toilet and hate web browsing on mobile 😄
Did I blink and miss something… Mint actually looks pretty modern compared to how I remember the release notes, kernel 6.8… I’ve never bothered with it as it just seemed like a distro to run on old hardware if you don’t mind your core being 2 years out of date, where Debian v.xx with kde just made more sense
Interesting…

I think specifically with sarcasm it’s an American issue. It’s natural to us EU people, we can usually just detect it by instinct.
I’ve dealt with US people who just fail to detect it both on the phone and face to face. So no chance with text…
If you kept it long enough… The last update made it unusably slow, was the only phone I ever destroyed and sent for recycling as there was no way I could sell that thing to someone.
Also last Samsung phone I ever bought for that reason. Actually could be the last Samsung anything I nought come to think of it

Like that time a US state subsidised Tesla with a billion dollar factory in exchange for jobs most of which were never delivered. I bet in China at least they would expect their grant deal to be fulfilled.
I’m not trying to advocate for China, just pointing out how much of Tesla’s current position is the result of hand outs (see; carbon credits)

Hey they didn’t specify which bit, we can aim much lower
I would like it if it was subtle, maybe a few thin rgb lines around the main board like traces, and something similar on other components.
I hate the everything blaring random lights look, its like a kids attempt to draw attention, it works but when you look you wish you hadn’t.
