I’m not sure that Google could sink any lower.

Good for the girls, they’ll know which boys to stay away from!

For one thing UBO, if you take the time to (turn on and) learn the advanced user mode, will let you customize interactions site-by-site, and remember your choices for years.EG I regulary use the zapper and eyedropper to get rid of stuff other than ads. It’s also easy to turn on/off site-by-site.
The man deserves a medal for the time he’s put in literally saving the internet for so many millions.

No problem. So much enshittification on the web these days, don’t need so much RAM, I might sell some.
Got rid of Vista, installed Mint in 2012. Never a single regret. I am so good at Mint now, it’s hard to be humble.

Many users were not the first to think that. Many of them were famous musicians. Some of them survived.
Next time, install Cinnamon Mint !

Hope somebody here shorted 1000 shares the day they hit $220.

would be worth $3,703 today. Or perhaps $250 tomaro when the AI bubble pops. An investment in the market is obviously worth more to those high-living traders, of course (and those fee-loving brokers), so they concur.

And then there’s the security question … what’s to stop their ‘guards’ from realizing that they could be living securely -without- the boss?

Animals are sometimes declared ‘extinct’ (no one is aware of any living examples) while they still exist (sometimes for decades).
Until 1967, noone was aware of the existence of gamma-ray bursts, the result of the biggest explosions in the universe. The bursts were only visible to specialized satellites.
Right now, people are suffering from diseases caused by unknown viruses.

Promises, promises. I haven’t heard of one that’s actually in commercial operation right now.
But, apples and oranges… it’s a bullshit choice. Power plants generate power, DC’s consume power.
If you going to generate power, why look beyond solar/wind and batteries? At a much lower price, and much faster build times, they too are ‘physically incapable of going into meltdown’, and are already in use worldwide, no wait time.
As far as DC’s go, they depend on very new technology (enjoying a trendy fad) which -will- get far less power-hungry than they are. Or else. (The grid’s not ready for them.)
The only people in a rush seem to be the people who invested in all the snake oil promises that LLM’s are real A.I. … which they aren’t.

My view is that most technology is a tool, like a screwdriver. You can carefully and enjoyably use it to build something useful, helpful, enjoyable. Or you can use it like a psycho.

A friend gave me this firm ‘Sacro-ease’ pad/cushion, it’s about an inch (2.5cm) thick on the bottom and 2 inches on the top. Move the bottom up or down for best relief. Use it on my old chair all day, helps a lot.

Sundials date back at least as far as Egypt and Babylon. They’re still found in gardens and old cities. Can be tricky to set the time accurately! helps to have a compass.

I would again recommend that anyone doing online marketing and/or tracking be legally confined to the .COM TLD. Severe penalties for corporate abuse would include removal of all internet access. Less severe penalties might include a confiscation of double of all profits made outside of .COM during a deliberate infraction.
There would be no cost for any TLD’s outside of .COM; all regulation and legal costs to be paid-for by .COM - users.

really care about … build quality
Glad for you that has changed lately. Apple’s is the only (and most expensive) hardware I’ve ever had severe problems with … twice. (In between, that clone they killed worked great for 7 years.) Not buying it.

“You’re Going to Have to Trust Us”
Is that anything like “Don’t Be Evil”? (Google motto, 2004. No definition of evil followed.)
Reagan once said “Trust But Verify”. So … where can we do that at? (and who pays?)
Not to buy 100 shares of Apple stock when it was $15 a share.
