Jesus christ these headlines mislead everything.
They were using machine learning to try and figure out what people were buying. Machine learning has lots of errors until you train it. The “hundreds of workers” were training it by telling it what each thing was. E.g. it was creating training data for it to learn from.
The goal was to train ML enough so that humans were rarely necessary, obviously.
Innovation is part of the executive buzzword bingo board for all announcements.
It doesn’t actually mean anything to these people. The only thing that has weight is what will enrich the wealth of the ownership class (shareholders.)
Water is wet and this is just beating a dead horse. I’ve seen this same topic covered again and again and again.
Isn’t there anything more relevant to talk about? isn’t this supposed to be an election year?
I mean sure I guess… but brave as a browser is atrocious. I don’t trust their bullshit at all.
After all who doesn’t want a crypto wallet in their browser? that’s the safest place for it right?
I feel like some people may be mentally damaged or simply lack critical thinking skills. Business is business and this entity obviously already has no qualms doing business with dumpy.
You get a bond like this contingent on other assets existing plus a fee. He owns real estate. This arrangement lets you leverage the equity in that real estate for a fee while someone else’s cash on hand is used. Let’s be realistic too, there’s next to no way he’s going to pay the full damages because most sane people wouldn’t think any amount of defamation is worth $83m+
Let’s pretend worse case scenario happens for dumpy and the 83m judgment is sustained and he exhausts all appeals and has to pay all parties for all damages based on all current lawsuits against him… unless he declares bankruptcy and truly loses it all - a thing that seems to have no hope of ever happening given none of the suits are for more money than he controls in assets… it’s all but guaranteed a signed contract will be enforceable should dumpy choose to not pay.
Ultimately it’s a secured debt. We’ll never know what the terms were from chubb corp.
The RNC is already gearing up to pay for him. Rob the uneducated masses (remember, we’re talking republicans here!) and pay the wealthy orange dude for his past actions before he was president, let’s go!
I wish someone in the audience had the balls to ask, “when you say Republicans, are you talking about liberals or conservatives?”
Even if you got them to ask this, they’d immediately get defensive because liberal is a bad word to them simply because it means having something in common with the opposition party to them. The true meaning is lost once you get into a public political context today. Just more manipulation of language to suit keeping public opinion of their voters being on their side after consultants or analysts figure out what engages people the most.
Also after reading about this guy on wikipedia, he seems like a real piece of work. Not too surprising since you’re required to master doublespeak in all political and leadership roles to be successful today.
tax on unrealized gains based on the tax year those gains happen, same with losses.
Big win one year? awesome! pay taxes!
big loss next year? bummer! no taxes if you only lost money… but no carrying that shit over.
Imagine all that money which would have FLOODED the economy post-covid while people were poor as shit that would have wiped out the national debt which in no small part was from handouts to the ‘welfare kings’ with businesses that pocketed tons of free cash from dumpy’s bailouts in covid times. Full circle could have been nice.
Instead we just get f’d.
“because in those days we had people who fought for real social change, and they were called Republicans.”
This room full of women was quiet as he spoke, though a faint “That’s right” could be heard when Robinson later said Republicans ended Jim Crow laws.
There’s a non-outrage-inducing non-headline grabbing logic here that is him saying he wishes republicans were more liberal
It’s very different from saying “I don’t think women should be allowed to vote”
If the masses can’t distinguish between these two concepts (they certainly cannot) then it is what it is. Pillory the guy, I don’t give an F, I wouldn’t have voted a republican in to a leadership position anyway due to the party’s policies and issues that are systemic.
Haley beat Trump in DC and VT
Bastions of republican electoral votes to be sure.
Trump also repeatedly claimed that if he were president, there would be no war between Israel and Gaza. “It would have never happened if I was president,” he said of Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack against Israel, in which more than 1,100 Israeli and foreign nationals were killed. “They wouldn’t have done it to me, I guarantee you that. They did this because they have no respect for Biden and frankly they got soft,” he added.
uh huh

They would never have done it if he was president. They only attacked because of biden.
Don’t forget heating and cooling too. There’s a ton of things that are necessary to operate while the vehicle is in motion and should never be delegated to a touchscreen.
I’m fine with touchscreens for in car entertainment for the back seats and maybe a passenger one with the appropriate shutter technology to block the driver’s view. None of those things are important for vehicle safety… but if there is a speaker that the passengers can control there needs to be a mute button for the driver to turn that shit off too :)
You think no one will pick up the old code and work on it?
You think the original devs won’t consider going back at it through a means that is anonymous and minimizes their risk?
I’ve never ever seen a platform with an emulator lose the emulator without someone eventually filling the void. The interest is there. More people than ever can code.
Like I said, she’s not any better than him. She’s still a more appealing choice to moderate / less insane republicans.
The blind red vs blue is real.
Her existence is to try to keep moderate conservative voters from flipping sides, and as insurance in case the supreme court sides against trump. The pardon is for the extreme side as a consolation prize if the SC rules against him.
When the supreme court rules in his favor and the risk of him going to jail is 0, she’ll support him and hope that the last minute endorsement will put the presidency on the regressive side. She’s not any better than him, nor was she ever. They’re cut from the same cloth, they’re just pandering to two sides of the same party.
Sales tax is fine
Show me how this does not disproportionately effect the bottom 50% and how it doesn’t strongly favor the wealthy and then i’ll agree with your statement that justifies the rest of what you’re saying.
Sales tax is not fine. The poor pay more than the rich. This is a problem that lets the rich get richer while the poor have less and less.
imo wealth taxes make the most sense. Tax every organization and individual equally. The ones with the most pay the most. The ones with nothing pay nothing.
Encourages spending what you have and not hoarding onto wealth for the sake of hoarding wealth.
imo the nonprofit system and tax exemption is broken. That’s why you have incredibly affluent people who own and operate a “foundation” where all their wealth resides, because putting the wealth there was a tax writeoff and they are still the owner, beneficiary and controller of the assets that are no longer “theirs”. does that mean it doesn’t affect you so fuck it who cares ?
No
This headline is so headline grabby. Sure the local fucking bigot won’t do it, but practically anyone can qualify as eligible for solemnizing a marriage.
I think it’s real shitty what they did and are trying to do, don’t get me wrong, but LGBTQ are not going away and there’s a lot more supporters than haters out there. Even in red states many supporters remain silent to avoid the loud dumb bigots.
