Btw I got banned from world by stating the fact that joe Lieberman (former US democratic senator from CT) single-handedly killed the single payer option that was originally part of obamacare because he was bribed (excuse me, political donations that are legal because corporations are people and that’s their free speech 🙄) to do so since most of the insurance companies at the time were based in his state. Not to go too deep into politics but I’ve been banned from every social media platform (including Reddit!) for being vehemently anti fascist and anti capitalist.

I have some uh… opinions… about how to initiate change and they don’t involve peaceful marching with signs in circles and going home. Because we’ve done that for decades now and things are only getting worse and the capitalists are only solidifying their power especially with how fast technology is moving. We’re running out of time to overthrow these bastards before they make it impossible…

But anyways, those opinions aren’t allowed anywhere else and barely tolerated here (got banned from world after expressing my thoughts about Luigi). Too subversive and threatening I guess.

Being an anarchist is tough, it feels like online everyone hates you and accuses you of playing for the other team at least in American politics. As an anarchist I hate both teams who have the same fucking owners.

Arguably it’s been going on since Nixon normalized relations with China, which led to the factories moving there for cheaper labor and the eventual hollowing out of the so called middle class in America.

It really took off in the 90s though with the passage of NAFTA and the establishment of the idea of globalization and neoliberalism aka “third way” thinking and the idea of the “end of history” (Francis Fukuyama) after the fall of the USSR. (He has since reneged on a lot of ideas that made him popular in the first place).

It most certainly has not been just a decade though. Any fair argument is gonna pin it on being the last 30-50 or so years.

Politics is everywhere because it affects every aspect of our lives even if we consider ourselves apolitical and don’t pay attention to the news or politics.

This story isn’t going away because even amongst the apolitical our healthcare system has fucked over nearly everyone either directly or a close loved one. The only people not getting fucked over are those on the tippy top. Even the upper middle class - if they get cancer they can lose their life’s savings. And our end of life care is essentially vultures picking clean a body only replace vultures with the health care system that keeps people alive for far too long past their natural life span to milk every last cent out of them.
