development stopped for a year (I see activity resumed yesterday) and I jumped ship to LazyVim, it feels much better and possible to self maintain the entire setup.

The only correct answer. Also too little too late for MS. Suck up a little bit of inconvenience to gain back your life with 🐧

I almost took such interviews 2 weeks ago. Applied, they said press link to continue, interview started with an animated human asking me questions. I dropped out instantly, I would rather trade shitcoins then go through this humiliation.

Check trustpilot, Paypal is universally known to be a dis-functional piece of junk. People perma banned for no reason, scammers still using it without issue, transactions are a hit or miss, you need one account by country (if you happen to go overseas and have a bank account there). I used it like 4 times: paid for goods twice, received a salary, sent my wife some money during covid then we got both perma-banned with 0 reasons given.
(I didn’t want to name names so we will not have 79 levels of replies - “actually …” 🤣)

Yeah, there are massive projects that serve as a frontend to a subset of ffmpeg features.

went there and down-voted everything

Yeah, in addition to the other million benefits. Like being much lighter, isn’t a giant spyware, decent scripting engine, covers all features that office has and more (it had PDF export way earlier), … My bachelor degree dissertation was in libreoffice in 2013. Since then, nobody can convince me to go back to Office.

I do agree. Maybe we could normalize having bots that duplicate the good posts from there and discuss them here. But yeah, it’s not so obvious how to measure a “good post”.

“Polls show that 99.9% of people like to take polls”
That’s true. Scrapping is a gold mine for the people that don’t know. I worked for a place which crawls the internet and beyond (fetches some internal dumps we pay for). There is no chance a zip bomb would crash the workers as there are strict timeouts and smell tests (even if a does it will crash an ECS task at worst and we will be alerted to fix that within a short time). We were as honest as it gets though, following GDPR, honoring the robots file, no spiders or scanners allowed, only home page to extract some insights.
I am aware of some big name EU non-software companies very interested in keeping an eye on some key things that are only possible with scraping.
There’s no model that can differentiate between 7 billion people. They all come with a limit. I didn’t check the current latest model, because a few years ago when I worked in the field, such models shit themselves beyond 20million people.
Just to say, using face detection only, like these pieces of shit are doing, will for sure make them detain people who have nothing to do with anything.
