from what you describe it does sound like a nightmare, but you’re ignoring or mocking people that tell you that it is not the norm

Also, tests ARE THE code, and equally important too! However so many people make the mistake of writing tests after the function, when the benefit is less immediate. They also have the illusion that they are done and have to do extra work. And since they didn’t write the test first, they most likely wasted a ton of time and energy on extra work of testing changes manually

for example in the code, sometimes machine errors are much harder to detect or diagnose because it is nothing like what a human would do. I would expect similarly in text, everything looks correct, because that’s what it is designed to do. Except in code you have a much higher chance of quickly knowing that there is an error somewhere, and with text you don’t even get a warning that you need to start looking for errors

I am very held back by the amount of resistance and pushback by myself against ai developments, and it is very hard to warm up to something being shoved down by these huge malicious corporations and not be worried about how they will use it against us.

I despise the way the generative models destroy income for entry level artists, the unhealthy amount it is used to avoid learning and homework in schools, and how none of the productivity gains will be shared with the working class. Russian money is funneled differently, mostly directly through politicians or satellite businesses, not through ngo’s. And that money is for different purposes, it’s not aid for cultural exchange or human rights or marginalized groups or independent media organizations so the system does not apply. This bill is specifically to harass ngo’s and independent or opposition media. Even the host on main propaganda channel slipped up and straight up admitted that it’s to protect from “foreign influence” other than Russia.

Another important point for context is that majority (if not all) of independent observers on elections are (obviously) members of ngo’s. Georgian Dream must fear that their usual election fraud of 5-7% along with their abuse systems for forcing govmt employees’ and parole citizens’ votes (also somewhere in that range) is no longer enough to get the majority, and to commit even larger fraud, they need to have a reason for disqualifying all the independent observers.
