1·5 months agoWTAF. I was sceptical, but I’ve been using this all week and haven’t once had the issue in the OP. Whereas previously I had to log in 2-3 times back to back every morning.
Any idea why this works?
How do I make this my career path

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do people switch from chrome to Brave browser and not to Firefox?
1·7 months agoNo webRTC apps work for me at all in Firefox. Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, whatever. I can connect but there is no video or audio in either direction.

2·7 months agoRIP Presto :( I wish they had open-sourced it when they abandoned it
I would also assume this, if I hadn’t also repeatedly witnessed the exact behaviour the OP describes. The “instant honk on green” drivers also tend to follow up with whatever reckless maneuver allows them to beat you to the next red light by 1.5 seconds. Inattentiveness and impatience are both dangerous on the road.

2·7 months agoOni had such a cool combat system! There aren’t enough single-player action games with this type of combat depth IMO. This video (YouTube link) does a great job explaining it in detail.

And I had the same experience with Endless Sky when I first found out about it some years ago. It has gotten a lot of updates since then, but I am holding out for a 1.0 release

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Anyone actually say during an interview that the reason they want the job was because they need money?
2·8 months agoIf I am in the midst of an interview, I don’t know if I want the job yet. That’s what I’m there to figure out. So I would take this question as an opportunity to outline what I am looking for in a job.
Obviously total compensation is a big part of it, but there are other aspects too. Is the position in-office/remote/hybrid? How flexible are work hours? Is the culture more competitive or collaborative? How is success measured (and rewarded) for this role? How would this job advance my career goals? Lay out what’s important to you and ask questions.
If you’re early in your career, you might not have a handle on what you want yet. That’s okay; it’s totally valid to say that you are still figuring things out and are open to whatever experience the job can provide. If nothing else, you might want to ask about mobility within the company–how often does the company promote from within, or allow people to change roles? Does the company have a reimbursement program for job-related training and education?
Even if you are only looking for a pay cheque, you’d be open to transitioning to a new role for more money, right? So highlight up front that you’re looking for a position at a company where you will have opportunities to grow.

I have no C# experience and both styles look fine to me. /shrug
