Yeah, the weekly sacrifices I have to do, are taking a toll on me

Can confirm, I’m ginger.
These large companies really need to learn that AI isn’t a good tool for black and white decisions.
Right now I’m working on a system with drones and image recognition for farmers to prioritise where to use pesticides, in order to decrease the use of pesticides in the EU. For these things AI systems work really well, since it’s just prioritising regions.
It’s a bad idea to use it to make discrete decisions.
Yes, and the researchers I know doing stuff with AI find the idea of AGI laughable.
LLMs are a type of AI
This seems really cool for tiling windows managers (even Windows has tiling options, although I’m not familiar with those). That being said, I still prefer a multimonitor setup on my tiling WM of choice.
If you ever have to switch, I can vouch for Kodi. I’m using it with the plugins for YouTube, national TV, Arte and my own local media storage. The downside is that those plugins aren’t officially supported tho
I hope the YouTube Kodi plugin stays working, otherwise I’ll have to write a script to download all latest videos in my subscription to my home server.
I know quite a lot of people doing research into AI. Some from my own background in applied mathematics, and some from my partners partner’s background in computational linguistics. They all have very different ideas about the future of AI, but they all laugh about the idea of a generic AGI.
That’s not really knowledge I need day to day, lol
I don’t really know, it just looks like a plastic toy your nephew would play with.
Wait, is that a real gun? That looked like a toy to my non-American eyes
O yeah, Igorrr is amazing!
but I’m impressed with how nice IDM and metal plays on them
Industrial Doom Metal?
Ire-inducing Depeche Mode?
Irish Derpy Music?
Instructional Defense Material?
Our QA manager is one of the founders of our company, so the work his team does is amazing. Doesn’t take away I get a heart attack any time I get a message from him…
The cool thing with Gentoo is that you can just decide one day to switch to systemd and it’s about as easy as changing your profile and updating your system (and maybe recompiling your kernel)
I remember not compiling the root filesystem in the kernel on my first Gentoo install, and being surprised it couldn’t mount root at boot.
It’s great. As a Gentoo user I still use it quite often. It helps that Arch has a far larger userbase, so its wiki is a lot bigger. (It also helps the Arch wiki didn’t lose everything 15-ish years ago due to a server hard drive failure)
Install Gentoo and put the package on GURU, it’s really easy (and .ebuild > PKGBUILD)
