Tetris.
Tetris.
1000 charge cycles. If you charge twice a week, that’s 500 weeks or a little less than 10 years. There’s no mention of degradation over time.
But back-of-the-napkin, it means for this to be cost-effective, they may want to come up with some sort of replaceable or battery swap system. Not sure anyone will want to buy a vehicle that needs a massive battery retrofit every 8-10 years.
There’s a divey bar 10m away where people have been watching results the last few years. Might head down there. Pretty sure it’ll be packed.
Alternative is to crawl into bed and wait till January.
Edit: we have a lot of local races (Mayor, City Council, propositions) on the line. Might hit the bar just to watch those and just ignore the national stuff.
I always assumed it was planned , since she was wearing a sun-shaped cover underneath. Why else would you wear one?
It sucks that the pearl-clutching media ostracized her so much.
Years ago. Was visiting a client on-site. Meeting ran late and had to race home. Popped into a ‘natural’ food store to get something. Grabbed a package of pre-made ‘fresh’ shrimp spring rolls out of one of those open coolers. Ate in the car.
A 1.5 hour drive turned into a four hour nightmare with all the unplanned stops.
Never again.
Robert Caro’s “The Power Broker.”
There’s also a 50-year anniversary, 12-part, 99% Invisible series diving into it. Looking forward to listening to those alongside each section.

So… Hyundai Automotive signed a deal with Hyundai Electric to supply them with electricity.

Obviously, you’re not a golfer.
Ask about ‘Independent Study’ from your faculty adviser. If you don’t have one, go to your Department head. If you don’t have that, ask the Registrar.
Independent Study means you get to propose your own coursework and, if approved, get to do it and get credit for it. You still have to deal with faculty supervision but the subject is specific to you. Think about what you would love to learn and propose a way to get there.
RPN: OR Trick Treat
Async multithreading: Treat Trick (loop closed) OR (stack trace)
Reading that was a rollercoaster of horror and confusion, ending in relief.
This is pretty sad.
I have a number of elderly relatives. The one thing I keep telling them is if they ever get approached, to contact their kids, or check with another family member before responding. So far, there haven’t been any problems.
But I heard an in-law’s parents in a different state lost a big chunk of money to one of these scams and may now lose their home.
Not a WP dev. Just a (techie) user.
This whole thing seems so unnecessary. FOSS devs would love to get a fraction of the goodwill being squandered here.
Any work or study done during an all-nighter is a waste.
If you meet someone and all they do is talk about themselves, they won’t be a good friend.
Nobody really cares how you look or what you wear. And anyone who does has bigger issues they would rather not deal with.
“Given a list of strings, print the contents of the list to the screen.”
print(stringlist)
or if you want to get fancy:
print(", ".join(stringlist))
When do I start? I feel like I nailed it.

Interviewed at two big, well-known tech companies. Had done a lot of mobile dev work at the time, but really wanted to switch to connected hardware and told the recruiters.
Showed up for the first on-site interview. Guy walks in. Explains the actual first interviewer couldn’t make it so he was a last-minute stand-in. Goes: “So, it says here you are intererested in mobile. That’s good. My team is looking for someone like that.”
I explained it was actually the other way round. What proceeded was an awkward hour of bullshit questions about train schedulers and sorting algorithms. Repeat five times that day. Every. Single. One.
Second company a few weeks later. Same thing. Except this time, 2/3 of the way through, a manager in HW group walks in. Grouses why he was asked to talk to someone, checks notes, about mobile. We had the greatest conversation after I set him straight. He wanted me to come back and do another loop just with his group. Except a week later, they announced a hiring freeze and I never heard back.
In retrospect, it was a good thing. I would not have been a good fit.
Sorry, but this country fully deserves where it ends up.
I shut off all news and social media, stopped checking newspapers, TV, and podcasts, and unsubbed from all politics and news mailing lists and communities. Told family and friends and they’re being cool about it.
Dove into 60’s detective novels. Anything by Ross Thomas, Donald Westlake, and Lawrence Block. Have stocked up on at least a year’s worth of out-of-print epubs. Will reevaluate once they run out. Mixed with a lot of outdoor walks.
It’s been glorious.
