They’d be so offended if they could spell

You can actually see some in broad daylight. I was shocked one day looking up and seeing one (white dot in the picture, verified with sat tracking app).

Wikipedia probably wants to sell access to LLMs to train. It’s only valuable if Wikipedia remains a high-quality, slop-free source.
I think even AI zealots think there should be silos of content to train from that are fully human generated. Training slop on slop makes the slop even worse.

Back to conda for me!
…wait no that’s a fate worse than death

This is why AI coding is being pushed so hard. Guess what’s great at piling on at 30x speed? If piling on is all companies appreciate then that’s what they’ll demand.

Now you can add mass murderer of children to that list

I’ve heard plenty of stories of destitute people burning all their money on state-run scratchers. It’s not a panacea.

I think the point is if what they believe in is a string of randomly connected bits of fiction, it’s not too much of a leap to think that they would omit or include a new bit of fiction to fit whatever the situation currently is.

There’s a good chance he claims the majority of the pie before he keels over

Yeah I’ve known about this for like 5 years. It’s not at all new.

The problem here is “expected.” Maybe they’re right and AI will do what they say…well, show us the receipts first then before you ruin thousands of people’s lives?

Them and Salesforce can both be Thanos’d out of existence, pretty please

Costs have been dropping by a factor of 3 per year, but token use increased 40x over the same period. So while the efficiency is contributing a bit to the use, the use is exploding even faster.
Even AI thinks copilot is shit

All of what you’re saying might be true, but the study doesn’t show that. That’s my point.

Right now everything the study finds seems to be a positive for both workers and bosses…workers are motivated and more cognitively engaged, bosses are getting more work out of them.
The second part is purely speculation on how this might lead to unwanted side effects in the future, but the study offers no evidence at all for those effects yet.

AI made posting this Pikachu meme take more work!

What’s the price of this compared to a comparable (feature-wise) laptop? Just curious what the repairability premium is.
No bets should be placed on any of the events of the war given we can’t trust either side to present any factual information.
