What’s the story with the bean posting? I’m new to the Lemmiverse.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why don't movie ratings just have letters indicating objectionable material?
7·6 days agoIirc this was the one that showed the sexism of the MPAA too, like how a fully visible penis gets rated R (I think American Psycho was the example), but in another film where some of the top of a woman’s pubic hair was showing in a scene, they were going to rate it NC-17 unless they removed it.

I’m laughing my ass off
From what I’d read about it, search engines have become kinda shit, focusing on SEO and paid sponsored results than actually showing what someone searched for, so some small websites form webrings to help people find similar websites/interests while they’re on their site. I think it’s pretty cute/fun.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's good etiquette in correcting your comments on Lemmy? [Lemmiquette]
3·18 days agoI haven’t had to do any edits beyond minor typo corrections so far, but this is essentially what I’d do. I prefer crossing things out so people can see what the context would have been for any older comments.
My dumbass reading through these comments: “keep ass… ehehehehe”
That’s cool as hell.

I think Boost does have ads, but it seems like I probably paid for premium at some point because I haven’t seen any. Way to go, past me. (I’ll be sure to check out Summit though, it looks quite nice too!)

3·2 months agoYeah, it’s quite active now, how exciting! I started browsing it just like I did RedReader last night and it didn’t feel like I was missing out on news or conservations. Also I like the Boost UI in some ways more than RedReader’s, so I’m sure that’s helping make the transition easier lol. Reddit really shot itself in the foot destroying all the popular 3rd party apps, reddit is fun was my beloved. RedReader is nice to have still available, but it honestly doesn’t hold a candle to rif’s nice UI/UX. Boost being basically on par with rif for me is making letting go of reddit all the more easier.

Thank you for enlightening me. 🫘
