If the small sabotage acts we’ve heard of are all they can come up with I frankly don’t care. If they could do more they would - and if they haven’t so far they most likely won’t in the future. That’s if these acts of sabotage are actually Russian, not all false flags from the military-industrial complex because they want to sell their toys.
Wait, that’s not boring, and it’s the first time I read this
One of each if you can’t make up your mind
As much as I believe that culture will inform political leaning - getting stuck posting online does too little. We have to meet in real life again and move stuff in real life again. That’s where the very fragile bodies of the billionaires are, not online.
It’s up to all of us, yes. If enough of us sit down and say ‘no’ we will stop this. Just don’t believe the warmongers.
Before it was fashionable to call ‘terrorists’ or ‘insurgents’ to organizations the ruling government doesn’t like, ‘organized crime’ would have been a common term applied to any organization posing as an alternative to said government.
Tetris and some Austrian Heimatfilm? Good luck creating crossover of that!
I feel this. I used to find computers and the promises of the internet exciting. Then things slowly turned into what they are now, and these days I often can only see everything computer as a layer of bullshit that has been put on top of the real world to keep us in a trance and not engage with reality anymore. But a lot of good things came from being connected as well. Maybe it’s like growing up and finding out a beloved parent was after all slightly abusive. And then see them decline in old age and have their worse traits worsened even more.
Another image that comes to my mind frequently is that of the internet as the haunted shopping mall: It was once a shiny place, everyone went there, it was all the rage. Now most of the shops are boarded up, the few that are left seem rather dodgy, and the only visitors seem to be a bunch of drug addicts hanging out at the bottom of the out-of-service escalators.
Currently I’m a bit lost trying to return to my analog hobbies. I draw, I paint, I play music, I scratch the donkeys. I often don’t have the energy I wish I had to do things other than sit at a screen. Takes time to get used to it again I guess.
You could get them 40 years ago with a simple clock. No internet connection, just set up for coffee at 7
