!anarchychess@sopuli.xyz has breached containment.
I feel like transparent and open algorithms should be the way to go. For example, in the Lemmy documentation, I can find the exact math that is used to rank posts in Scaled
sorting.
Perhaps an even better aporoach may lie in letting the users customize the factors determining ranking and how much they affect it.
From the FAQ on Codeberg:
How do you pronounce “mwmbl”?
Like “mumble”. The developer lives in Mumbles, which is spelt “Mwmbwls” in Welsh. But the intended meaning is “to mumble”, as in “don’t search, just mwmbl!”
P. S. They also have a newer frontend! If you want to try it out, visit https://alpha.mwmbl.org/!
That sounds like Xitter. Fortunately, Reddit hasn’t devolved that far… yet.
Same article, better frontend: https://scribe.rip/@sebastiancarlos/the-ultimate-lisp-function-the-python-combinator-d110d42fa1a5
You could join PieFed 🥺
Too late. For better or for worse, it’s already a meme.
Awesome! Especially love the effort they take to explain federation. We could learn from that…
Where is the screenshot from?
… if it’s ever implemented i’m going to bug db0 to death about making a piefed instance on dbzer0 :D
call it “divisions by 1” ;P
These are the type of people that have deleted the French language from their GNU/Linux system.
Why tf do people even use Samsung Internet browser?

Thanks for sharing that linked comment. I knew there were other things that weren’t as talked about, but I didn’t have the energy to look into them and draft a comprehensive insight with citations.
I know, but it’s the principle of the thing.

imo we should focus on a statistic on the entire Threadiverse instead of only Lemmy. After all, these software are highly intercompatible, so excluding them doesn’t make sense.
Ah, so that’s what zerobytes.monster is?
